Geez, mate, give it a rest! Since you readily admit you are not a heating engineer or electrician or anything else vaguely related (nor am I) you have no way of knowing HOW MUCH oil should be in it. ALL oil heaters are partly filled, perhaps for reasons I have theorised before. I also doubt you could buy less than a rather large drum of it, if you could find it. Tell me - any signs of a leak? Do you have an identical heater? If so, weigh both with good scales. That would indicate if oil was low. As I've said before, oil-filled heaters have a very gentle heat, so may not feel as 'warm' as others, still, with a little time they will fill a smaller room with a nice all-over heat. If you could compare identical heaters you might be able to say one was hotter than another.....I suspect it's fine apart from the thermostat, and, chances are, you're on the low setting. I don't think running it without a thermostat is safe, even if you do watch it..... Trust me, I've seen/bought/used a lot of heaters in my day, probably more than most posters here, since I lived in Australia and portable heaters are all 99% of the population use, since few people have central heat. Just chuck it. Get another sort, if you don't like the oil heat type. Personally I like them almost as much as baseboard heaters (and they're easier to cover up accidentally, although I don't know how much risk of fire they pose) - I bought an oil heater for both my daughter's rooms since they were the safest we could find, and they may well have been Delonghis. For us, they worked well but to this day, they still make a hot paint smell when they run. DON'T BOTHER ABOUT THE OIL - YOU CAN'T RESEAL IT, AND YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHETHER MORE OIL WILL HELP OR WILL EXPAND AND CAUSE LEAKAGE ETC.

I don't know anything about the Glade/DIY scents as I've been using Electric Tart Warmers for several years now and find them not only more cost effective but safer than tart warmers that use a small candle to heat the wax. I also put timers on two of my Electric Tart Warmers. During the winter, with windows closed most of the time, I find if I set the timer to turn on the Electric Tart Warmer a half hour before I wake up, I don't wake up to a musty/closed-up smelling house. I wake up to the scent of Downy Softener....the tart scent I always purchase. I can also purchase the Downy Softener Fragrance Oil ....add a few drops to the already melted tart when it needs refreshing. I purchased a one ounce bottle of Un-cut fragrance oil (Downy Scent) last November and I still have 2/3 of the bottle left.....that's how little one needs to freshen their melted tarts in the Electric Warmer. Last week I received a new type of tart warmer (linked below) and so far, so good! I have one plugged into our master bathroom outlet next to the medicine cabinet and one in the kitchen close to the trash can area. I wouldn't use these close to the floor....in an outlet that can be reached by a furbaby or young child, but where I have them right now, they are completely out of reach by both and do a good job of keeping the closed-up kitchen and bath not smelling musty. With both electric warmers, if I want to change out the wax/soy tart, I just put the little cup with old wax in the freezer for 10 minutes and it pops right out into the trash can. You can't imagine what a nightmare happened. I'd started using it in dad's bathroom at BIL's house, and during process of removing the TOO-SHALLOW BAD-DESIGNED DISH to show my BIL, it had gotten SO hot, that my hand tipped it (same as gingerly tipping a bowl of burning soup). ...OUCH - reddish wax (mandarine scented) splattered all over my BIL's pristine white bath-sink & counter. Also ruined the sleeve of my wool top - both inner & outer part of sleeve. I was crying my heart out from the stress. Thing is - there seems to be only: 15w bulbs 4w bulbs Question: Are there 10w bulbs - so that it should still offer a yummy scent, but NOT liquify & cause a horrific mess? How I wish I was conveniently located to convenient stores such as malls or AC-Moore's where people buy these things (as testified on YouTube video's). Whoever lives near such stores takes it for granted that such conveniences are easily accessible to most people, instead of the crap which people fall into online. I love fragrance, but I do understand there can be too much of a good thing. I use the wax melters. I've tried tarts/melts you buy at the store, ones sold online from large companies, and ones sold by independent vendors. I've been given Scentsy, but refuse to buy it. Sorry, I'm not supporting any businesses set up that way. With all brands or vendors, I've found ones that worked and ones that didn't. At work, we take turns in our suite burning. We all have our own offices, and never use one in reception, so the fragrance stays concentrated in one location mostly, with just a hint in the hallway. We get lots of compliments. At home, I have a few burners, but only have one always in use. It's on a timer. It comes on about an hour before I get up and stays on around 2 hours. In the afternoon, it comes on about an hour before we get home and runs around 2 hours as well. This way I wake up to a nice fragrance and come home to one. At the same time, the pets get a break, I don't go nose blind, and I can get several uses out of one melt.
