Link below. I pretty much worked from referrals and I had a space at a local design market. Asking around the paint stores and friends/family/work might be help you stumble on someone. Ya never know. You have to decide what you want and be very clear with whoever you find. Many designers, decorators, stagers, painters, and faux finishers include 'color consulting' on their menu of services. Just because it's on their menu of services doesn't mean they should be doing it. (Amy, the NY Times is interesting.) There is as much debate about what 'color consulting' means as there is about 'color expert'. i.e. Showing up with two Benjamin Moore fandecks and/or big color chips doesn't qualify as a color consultation. It's a color ping. Meaning a warm body shows up and proceeds to show you different paint chips, you pick colors, pay 'em a hundred bucks or so, and maybe buy paint from their store and/or sign on the dotted line with "their painter" to do the work. And they leave. I have a rather harsh and opinionated point of view as far as what constitutes a Color Expert. My take on what makes for real a Color Consultation is equally extreme and hardcore. I can get a little intense about it. ⺠There will be varying levels of knowledge and skill. There will be cases of using 'color consulting' as a way to get in there and then up-sell. Meaning you might start out wanting to paint your kitchen and then be 'advised' that you need all new window treatments, a sofa, or a dog that "goes better". Be careful out there.
