Did this easy little tutorial yesterday - had some time to play.

Frank: I really don't have enough room. It would be more accurate if I said I move my melons around on a 3-4 yr rotation. I'll never grow them again on anything but some kind of weed barrier. Either black plastic or the permeable weed barrier, likely the later. You just can't fight the weeds when you are talking a 5-7 month crop. And not having the weeds has to increase the yield. I've got at least 20 more melons coming on this one hill, three plants. My Mom grows Sugar Baby in N IL. But it's not much of a melon, in my experience, compared to Star Brite or a seedless. By using a mini greenhouse and some frost protection you can add at least a month to your growing season. The Fruitnut

Interesting data. I don't have any "official" data, but I noticed my Burpee Jalapeno M were some of the first to pop up. They aren't the early ones per say, but they are usually the first variety that produces ripe fruit for me. Probably around 8 days if I had to guess to pop up(based on the 4-5 days it took for the 'maters). California Wonder, Big Dipper, and Chianti were about a day later. Anaheim were a little slower for some reason. Corno di Toro never germinated at all, as you know.

Hi Buzzard, The Filters Unlimited 2 is a trial version, that does not let you apply them, just view what they look like. Is that stupid or what, if I had known that I wouldn't have downloaded it, the description was misleading. Anyway I just used Effects, Illumination effects, Sunburst and played with the settings instead. The Border Mania ones, I could hardly see any difference after I applied it, don't know for sure if it worked or I did something wrong. The Reflet plugin worked fine. I almost didn't use that one as I have another called Squirlz Reflect, that does the same thing, but I was determined to finish this tut and thought I would use everything she did when possible.

If it is scale the brown specs should be shiny and peel off with a fingernail. It looks more like discoloring to me, so far. It looks hot and thirsty. Water: Keep soil barely moist. Allow the top inch of soil to dry between waterings. Water less in winter, allowing the top half of the soil to dry out between waterings. I would give the plant just enough water to have 10 or 20 percent escape the pot. Don't get it extremely wet, they hate to be too wet too. Bright but indirect light is what they prefer. It will come back for you, just don't let the whole pot of dirt dry out.

BooHoohoo!!! I get to step 12 and my single letter with the balloon won't paste.

My letters look like Buzzards. How do I get them to look like Sue's and Marilyn's and Elaine's. Also, Marilyn what font did you use? I have checked out all my fonts and I don't think I have a big ole fat font.

Good job Buzzard - Sue and Urlee are far ahead of us in animation, but this one was easy (that's why I tried it).
I'm always late catching up to the tutorials posted, but eventually give the ones I really like, a try.

I clicked on "my page" after you name and don't see where I can send you an e-mail. I can't send a font through the list - but if I get an e-mail from you - I'll share the one I used.
