Sorry I have nothing to add because that Mahjong game has completely taken over my free computer time. I play it every night while watching TV. It's totally addictive and pointless too, don't you think? I'm embarrassed that I've played it almost every night since December when my friend first sent me the link. [Sigh ... What can I say, I love it!] When my daughter comes over and uses my computer to check her email, she takes over and finishes whatever Mahjong game I've got going.

It's not as comfortable for me to read a whole lot online, so I still read regular old real books.

Here's my game addiction. It comes and goes but has drawn me back for years.

I don't read books online but I do a lot of book swapping here. I used to visit the used bookstore, now I have an even better one right in front of me. Don't let the name fool you. It's not just paperbacks. You can get hard backs and audio too.

I look at it as exercize for my brain! It's helping my reflexes and keeping me sharp!

Thanks Oceanna, I'm addicted to Hearts which is included in windows and vista. I also purchased Bejeweled2 at Walmart and installed it. Great game. Solitaire is also one of my favs.

I used to have a Mah-jongg game I loved - it was called "Great Wall", from a collection called "Shanghai Great Moments". All the pieces lay flat instead of stacked like in regular Mah-jongg, and when you removed two matching tiles the rows above them would drop down, rearranging the whole board. It was very challenging and very addictive. It won't run on Vista though, and the few other versions I've found of it just aren't as good. :-(

For free novels to download, check out Project Gutenberg, as well as this huge list of resources for free e-books (along with hardcopy books but you do generally have to pay shipping costs so not really free). I prefer to have actual books since they're easier to tote around than my laptop though.

My usual time-eaters online are eBay and this site. :-)

DH and I are addicted to ScrabbleBlast. It's kind of a word seach using scrabble points. It's funny because DH is much better at the online version, but I rock the board game.

I like reading books while supine, so I don't take advantage of online novels.

I used to play in Pogo. Bridge was my favorite because I played tournament bridge years ago. Most of the people playing were such headcases that I quit going in the rooms.

Then I started playing this game based on 21. Played waaaay too much. Then they dumbed it down and I quit the Pogo site for good.

Now my addiction is GW. :)

I have a free one that is at Kyodai.com. I have downloaded it and have used it now for over a year with no problems. There are many games on it and I play the mahjongg that is called slider.
I am addicted.
You can register and pay something if you want but I never have.
