Roof truss problem

I hope brickeyee is still reading this forum. House built 1968, roof trusses of Fink (W) style). Trusses span 27', spaced 2' O.C. To be reroofed soon. One truss has the upper chord bowed. This is the top chord on just one side of the truss. It is bowed down in the upper portion and is bowed up in the lower portion. My plan is to add an 8' 2x4 to each side of the upper portion of the top chord and use clamps to pull up the bowed-down portion and then securely nail the new 2x4s in place. Pulling up and straightening the top portion should help lower the bottom section of the top chord. Replacing just this truss is completely out of the question. And repairs must be done quickly due to weather exposure and the roofer's schedule. This truss experienced no unusual loading at all, just sheathing and one layer of asphalt shingles above. Can you suggest a better plan?
