What is your favorite kind of under mount sink? Whether it be a certain brand, certain finish, or certain style (single basin, etc)?

I can't remember what the reveals are called. In my master bath, the countertop completely covers and overhangs the edge of the sinks. I LOVE this. No nasty lip of the sink to collect junk, caulking to mold, etc. In my current (soon to be replaced) kitchen, I have the opposite - there is a lip of sink exposed. (Is this a negative reveal? Can never keep them straight.) This is just gross! Despite cleaning the sink daily, that lip always catches dirt and debris. The caulk gets moldy looking and has to be replaced. Yuk! A new sink I put in has a flush reveal. That is nice, too; I would say it and the counter-overhang version are equal in my mind, and the one where the sink sticks out is gross. As for countertop edging, I don't have any functional comments about any of them. I have a bullnose edge in the kitchen and a squared off edge upstairs and I like them both. Anita

Thanks everyone - great information! So in the past 24 hrs, I've placed 2 small (well, $600 and $800) trial orders with Denovo plumbing on ebay (2 Danze bathroom faucets and the matching shower/tub trim pkg) and faucetdepot.com (Grohe's Bridgeford roman tub filler w/handheld spray). Both, if "for real", are screaming deals: Denovo was over $100 below anyone else on ebay (and local retail) - $180 for each faucet, $200 for the shower/bath set. The Bridgeford was on clearance at faucetdepot, MSRP of $1,950, local retail of $1,267, at faucetdepot for $789. **gulp** Too good to be true? I'm a little freaked out by both orders, even though I'm a huge ebay and online shopper. Will report back once the orders arrive. If they arrive. I'm trying to temper my excitement in case things go *way* haywire.... Karen

It is possible Rose of Blue, we have done our kitchen for around $5000. You really have to SHOP SHOP SHOP, I found that getting LOTS of estimates and telling everyone I was getting LOTS of estimates drove down the cost like crazy. Then go back and see who will match what. We got our Cabinets second hand (hubby and BIL went and took them out themselves) but we went from the 36" to the 42" cabinets (after removing the soffit ourselves) and it made a WORLD of difference. The kitchen (20' X 8') feels SO much bigger! The Soffit was a bit of a mess, after opening it up we had to move a ton of wires and make a few adjustments to air vents, but we did it ourselves and it is done now. I suggest to use Ebay, Amazon and Craigslist. We got an AMAZING new french door bottom freezer Maytag fridge for $400 off of Craigslist! Good luck, you CAN do it! I don’t think the Stages comes with a colander, at least it didn’t when I got it. It does come with a large wood cutting board, large white tray/cutting board, small tray/cutting board, 6 ceramic prep bowls, bottom sink grid, and under counter rack. The prep bowls are well designed to both stack and be reversible, although I mostly use them with the larger size up. I like the square design because it’s easy to use a wood spatula to scrape out the contents. The bottom grid hasn’t been a problem for me. You do have to lift it up or take it out to clean the sink, but that outweighs the advantages of being able to set things on it to drain and the fact that it protects the bottom of the sink from scratches. I do wish it was in two pieces so it would more easily fit in my dishwasher. It is so big that I have angle it to get it in and it’s hard to load other items around it.

A coincidence; I found and bought a Silgranit sink that had a sloped edge just like the Poise, and it fits the Poise bamboo cutting board (K-3140). It's not on blancoamerica.com

Franke Orca stainless steel. Accessories make it very functional. I use the right side grid for draining fruits, veggies, pots and pans. I also bought a bottom grid, which I don't use as two grids make it awkward to clean. It is a deep sink, as are most, so tall people need to bend a bit.

Just got my new Silgranite 1 and 1/3 in anthracite. I think I am going to like it very much. It is 91/2 inches deep.

We have a Franke (Oceania) non-divided, single bowl sink. We bought the colander insert for drying dishes, but you still have access to the sink underneath since the colander doesn't extend all the way down. Love it!

I do like the fireclay farmhouse sink but I met and fell in love with a copper farmhouse sink and since that day I only had eyes for him... ahem, I mean "it".
