Considering 2cm Silestone with laminated edge to 4cm

I have chosen Silestone Sonora Gold for my countertops, but have to go with 2cm since I want to use the same material for a backsplash. That being said, I feel 2cm is a little thin for countertop thickness, and am wondering whether having the laminated edge to 4cm (flat eased edge).

Has anyone had experience with this? Is the laminate line visible? Does it look like two pieces have been glued together, or does it tend to blend very smoothly?

Any experience you've had with this, I'd love to know.

Thanks!
