Grohe or hansgrohe, which is better?
Comments (37)motherof3inct (I am a motherof3inca :-) , but also an Interior Designer. I've specified many Kohler products for clients/projects and never had anyone complain about water pressure coming from the shower-heads. Well, unless you are a Californian and we have VERY strict codes regarding gpm (gallons per minute) or flow rate, but we are past complaining and just used to it! Maybe shangaimom ended up with a CA approved fixture by mistake? This easy to do inadvertently when buying plumbing fixtures online, as opposed to purchasing at a local supplier. Also, whether or not showerheads have the option to change type of flow is really more of a model thing, not a Kohler across-the-board thing - many of the kohler shower-heads do allow you to change type of flow. Anyway - just didn't want you to be scared of KOHLER as a brnad. They make beautiful products in a range of qualities levels and options. I've really like their products - sounds like the Memoirs was just too basic for the case mentioned above....See MoreDo you prefer Grohe or Hansgrohe?
Comments (8)Both make quality products, IMHO. Select the one with the design you like and I don't think you will be disappointed. I have Grohe in my master bath and KWC in my kitchen. The KWC has a lifetime guarantee, and they mean it. I sent them a photo of my kitchen pull out hose that showed a slight crack (that didn't affect the performance) after 7 years of heavy use and they sent me a new hose overnight. So there a several higher quality manufacturers. I good plumbing supply store could probably tell you which manufacturers get more repairs. Get your hands on the fixtures you like and see what works for YOU. -Babka...See MoreGrohe vs Hansgrohe
Comments (1)Per their website, the ibox was first sold in 2001, so it's not new. It's a clever idea and it's a problem solver when the plumbing work needs to be done but hardware choices remain open. I used the Hansgrohe system for a shower that was rebuilt last year (I didn't do the work). Both my wife and I like having the separate temperature and flow controls. We also have Grohe products in the house. I would describe both as German, European Modern in style and approach and very good quality. Hansgrohe has common ownership with Delta, I don't know who runs who. As to differences, I can't say, I can only say we've been happy with both....See MoreGrohe vs. Hansgrohe
Comments (6)The split happened like a century ago - so don't read anything into it. The have nothing to do with each other. Hansgrohe is now owned by Delta / MASCO the giant American building products co. and you will see many of HG's features trickle down to Delta's line. Ever wonder how Delta got those rubber rub-it nozzles on their shower heads ??? Robbed , I mean borrowed, I mean shared the hansgrohe partsbin. Shower valves/trims are supposed to be cross compatible as well. Products with the same part numbers are the same regardless of the outlet. Now, HG does a better job at mixing up the #'s so a Costco faucet is only at COSTCO as far as I know. That said I've seen and used both and I cannot tell a difference, if their even is one....See Moreluisa_at_home
