Any pics of Azuvi mosaics in 1x1 travertine and glass colors?

Just wondering since I think I have found my backsplash, FINALLY, if anyone actually has pictures of this installed?

The tops of some of the tiles are not actually dark that's just a shadow. Thanks!

I found it at San Diego Bath and Tile but have yet to find it anywhere online. I don't know if it is exclusive to them or not. I currently have International Bath and Tile in San Diego trying to see if they can get it so I can obtain the best price. All I know at this point is it is an Azuvi product. I will have to do a little more research on Monday to get more details.

I think it partially depends on whether you want the backsplash to look "framed". That's essentially what the porcelain tile will do because it is visually different from the glass tile. Bullnose tends to be more expensive than field tiles, and you will (almost definitely) have some scraps left over from doing the shower. I would consider cutting some of those scraps into the strip shape (as you would the bullnose) and taping it up as a layout to see if you like that framed look. If you do, then go ahead and cut the bullnose and tape that up. This would hopefully save you some money if it turns out you do not like the look of the frame around the glass tile. My personal preference would be to not do the bullnose around the glass tile. To me the mosaic is very pretty and has a lovely rounded edge and I would not want anything to take away the focus from the glass tiles. However, this is just my opinion, so feel free to ignore it.

Glass mosiac tile is an art unto itself. If it is "transparent," you will need to take into consideration the colour of the morter, as it WILL show through. If it does, you need to comb the (probably white) thinset onto the area with, probably an eighth inch, "U" notched trowel. Then, you need to use the flat edge to flatten the morter. Why? Well, the ridges will show up....and you won't like that at all. Now, let's talk about actually cutting the tile. If you've gone this far, I guess you have a good quality wetsaw....you'll need one. In addition, you will need a good blade that is designed to cut glass. Got all that? Good, now you can go to setting tile. If you haven't figured it out by now, understand that setting glass mosiac tile is the hardest and most expensive tiling that you can do. If you're a "First-Timer," I might discourage you from this. Do a smaller and simpler project first...and THEN, MEYBE go for it. Trust this: When faced with the type of installation you have described.....I charge double...

Hi Dee - I don't know that it will be any less but the other company that makes beautiful iridescent glass tile is Oceanside Glasstile. But, it is spendy too! We used the Tessera Beach Blonde glass mosaic blend in my daughter's bathroom as a border - and could only afford it because part of the room was a "gift" from my daughters' grandmother who wanted them to have a beautiful bathroom. Hey, I'm not too proud to accept the gift of tile! It is gorgeous though - It was a bathroom so I wanted those spa colors - pics below but it doesn't do the iridescence justice. I see they have several that are in a similar color palette to the one you like from Sonoma. I will tell you that we actually used Sonoma glass tile in our kitchen and wet bar, and after purchasing 14 different types of tile for our projects, it was worth every penny. It is perfect - we found no flaws which is notorious in glass tile. And they take great care with your tile. They sent the border tile for our kitchen individually shrink wrapped on a piece of cardboard! I mixed it with a less expensive tile in order to use it, because it is expensive. We used the Tantrum Rhythm border in Green Tea and then the Tantrum Field 1x1 tiles in Green Tea, Hemp, Canyon Red and Adobe in our backsplash with 5 Miraval Carved 2 x 2 tiles mixed in. Then, in our wetbar we used the Tantrum slivers in Green Tea. (We actually went with a Chinese tile company that has a glass tile that was "sort of" similar to Sonoma and it was terrible. We went through four deliveries of damaged or inconsistent color before our local tile company just decided that it wasn't worth it to try again. They gave us the Sonoma at the price of the other tile, so that was an unexpected gift. I won't even give you the name of that tile because I wouldn't wish it upon anyone!) Since you're looking for a paler palette, can you mix it with a different tile and use it as a border? Maybe a pretty glazed subway or neutral subway tile? Anyway, just thought I'd toss it out there. We are currently remodeling our master bath, and we are using the Walker Zanger Vintage Glass tile (color: Zinc Lustre, which is the color shown in the link in your second post). We love it! The tile is not currently 100% installed, and it is not yet grouted, so I am not ready to show pictures, but we are having it cover much of the bathroom. I like how it is subtly iridescent. It was definitely not inexpensive, but really makes a statement. I can't wait to see it finished.

You might want to give them a call. I am not sure just when I might get around to it! Sorry. If I do get info I will try to post it, but no promises. Let me know if you get any additional info as well. It is really very pretty in person and keeps the natural feel but adds a little zing with the glass. Really cool, I think. Good luck!

Lyn: Have done a little more research today and STILL cannot find out alternative companies for the tiles I want. They do come in alternative sizes but not in subway if that's what you have in mind. Have you found anything? I actually wrote to Azuvi. We will see if I get a reply. How about you?

I have called three companies here (NJ). Two said they don't carry the brand and can't get it. One said it sounded familiar and were going to look into it so I am waiting to hear from them. I tried to email Azuvi but computer was uncooperative. I am going to try again. Do you remember what the larger size mosiac was - 2x2, 4x4, 6x6? Not looking for subway. Also can I ask what the price was for the 1x1? Thanks for keeping in touch.

I think there is a little confusion between our communication. The mosaic sample I have (the one posted) only comes in a 12 x 12 sheet with the 1 x 1 tiles. I did not see any "mosaics" in anything other size other than 1 x 1's. I did see coordinating plain tiles in other sizes.

The cost of one 12 x 12 sheet of the 1 x 1 mosaics is $34.76.

I found a huge list last night of tile stores in our surrounding area. Will post any additional info I find as I receive it.
