My doors and trim are/were about the exact same color. The floor molding was changed out when we had new tile installed so we now have the 5" white molding. I did most of the painting myself. I'm still working on the door trim molding and i think it looks great (the color, maybe not the workmanship-because I painted it myself and got a bit sloppy) The doors are remaining the same. It gives it a really nice contrast. Plus the doors would be a real pain to do.

Hi Roobear While I like the contrast of your dark trim against your pretty paint colors I can understand your dilemma. We just remodeled our bath and office and decided to change out the stained medium oak baseboard trim to white. Here is what we did that you might want to consider: Because the stained trim is narrow and I really like the look of a wider trim, we purchased MDF 5 1/4 inch pre-primed baseboard molding from Home Depot. It is very inexpensive and only needed 2 coats of paint. Looks so good that we are going to replace the hallway and master bedroom next. It really gives the rooms a whole different look, and if you are going to go to all the work of removing the trim, sanding, priming and painting you might want to consider an inexpensive and easy option. As for the windows. I painted them too. I left them open for a couple of days after and they seemed to be ok. The key it to make sure they are really dry before shutting the window. Good luck. JudyG Designs what is a light warm grey that has the right undertones to minimize the heavy yellow in the antique white? My plan right now will be to keep the cabinets the antique because this is the 2nd time they've been painted (the first time the lady did a terrible job and I had to fire her and have her work removed) so I am worried about painting them a 3rd time. So I will paint the walls a light color that compliments the cabinets and gives them a whiter appearance. Paint the trim the antique to remove any stark white, paint the door a dark grey with the right warm undertones, the ceiling creamy white and next year we will replace the back splash to something simple that is either mix of white and cream or like a creamy herringbone. What do you think?

I would LOVE nothing more than to paint the house white but my husband LOVES the yellow. Also the yellow is a very well done stucco and in great condition still. The house has a gate around the entire perimeter of the property that is also yellow stucco and covered in vines and landscaping if I paint it white, I'd have to rip all of this out and replace it too. I think I am going to have to paint the trim and doors for now and live with the yellow for the time being. :,(
