Not to take the place of the Show me Yours thread.

From Oakleyok's post yesterday: I have thoroughly been enjoying the pictures of the day! So I came up with an idea to see more pictures which would be a little more intimate and help us to get to know each other better.

What about showing a picture inside your home? It doesn't have to be about decorating, maybe a picture of your pet sprawled on your sofa, a favorite chair, even an ugly chair, a favorite plate, a sink you really like, on and on! The pictures can be funny, like a collection of dustbunnies you forgot to sweep from the floor. The imagination here could be hilarious!

I have the same glass canisters Lydia. I remember trying to find glass ones a few years ago. It wasn't easy! I love them.
I've got a huge one as well that holds the dry cat food.

jodi.....I have a set of 3 of those, not exact.... I fondly refer to them as "texture" prints. Do you know if they are originals? or textures applied to canvas? I admit.....I got 24 pieces of artwork from a warehouse, used by decorators to stage model homes(when the homes sold, the artwork was no longer needed). I have very little information on most of the pieces.....other than the artists signature....

Casey,that is a lovely painting, and yes, you should have some of your photos framed. Always interesting and so enjoyable. This is my most loved painting...actually it is a print of an original done in the 'scratchboard' method. Bought it in the early '80s. Couldn't afford a companion print of Goldfinches on Thistle at the time, but have been searching for the last 10 years to find it. No luck....darn!

I LOVE all the pictures! Maybee-I showed yours to DS and he said WOW,COOL! It is beautiful! Kath-I would say a soft gray.I think white would be too stark and black would make the furniture disappear. Love the birds,love the wind chimes and love,love,love the peacocks.Kim,I have a pair of flamingos that are about the same scale as your peacocks.They were my mother's and she had them for as long as I can remember,which makes them VERY old!LOL I'll bet they were made in about the same era as yours.I love them.i know they were probably cheap dime store stuff but they are a treasure to me.I really like that mirror behind the peacocks too.

Bowling ball I glued lizards on and painted. Stand is the top half of an old fire extinguisher. This has been outside my front porch for probably 6 years now and is still holding up pretty well.

Love the retro glasses! I'm a retro girl myself.

Clairdo, that is a beautiful entryway, especially the stained glass.

This is a partial picture of my dining room and sitting room (no other name to call it after the remodel, lol).

You don't really want to see my house, it's impossible to keep nice. Here's one of the dogs in the 'master's' chair.
I don't dare mess with the crap on the table beside DH's chair. He does have a nicer chair now, it's blue and very pretty, not this ugly, dirty brown. lol

Donna! I think I've told you before that Dean has the same Chair and his side table is covered in cigerette ashes, plus he uses the Fire Place base to store Cross Word puzzles and bills. :(

I don't believe you Bigack....not by the beautiful pics of your lawns and gardens.

Here's my kitty, hiding. This was taken the first day we got him. Couldn't find him anywhere, and there he was, on the very top of my bookcase, still as a statue. To this day, he still prefers heights.

What a nice idea! I'm enjoying everyone's pictures. I think I need a new cat. And dog . . .

Anyway, here's a corner of my living room. I forget why I took this rather odd shot. The green chair is where I do my rug hooking and reading. That's a picture of my granddaughter on the mantle, and my mom made the sampler on the wall.

And here's the stained-glass fireplace screen, all lit up. It was a gift from my son and DIL a few years ago. (I had more stuff on the mantle then.)

This is a shot of part of my work room and on the wall is a mini-quilt of my cat, made by a swapper friend at Flickr. It was such a surprise to get and I just love it! (Please don't think she made Parker's leg funny, that's exactly the way she was sitting in a photo that she used to go by. Weird cat!)

This is our hallway. My daughter painted that picture one day while we were hanging out together & playing with paints. She was going to throw it away, I snagged it instead and framed it. It's one of my favorite things and she likes it too!

I have an old dresser (it was my DH's great grandmothers, his grandmother was told by her mother that if she fixed it up, she could have it in her home, then it came with Gma when she moved in with Dean's family. His mother had it in their house, and now it is in our home) that sits in the entry way to our home. I display the different holiday/themes on it. 4th of July is on it now.
