Show me your Coastal Living Beds/Furniture!

I am back and forth over colors for the Bungalow and Summerhouse beds. I like the Lemon Twist, but have not seen the physical piece and online, it appears to be a warm yellow as opposed to a lemon or bright sunny yellow. Anyone have their beds or painted furniture?

What about the blues...high tide, wave, sea mist. Would love to see your pictures or opinions on these colors.

I had planned to do a mixture of beds (two painted wood and one wrought iron bed, but most of the iron beds have foot boards and my son is 6'3," so when he visits, I want him to fit in the bed! Now I am back to this Bungalow Bed with a very low foot board.

The room backs to woods, which faces NE and an E-facing window. I thought the yellow would be a nice contrast and brighten up the room. Also wondering if I am limiting myself going with a stained/color bed, though I think of many of these colors as neutrals, esp. the yellow, shell....

What I would do is to Google Bungalow style, summer house beds, etc. coastal colors and see what comes up. There are some great magazines that have photos online as well like Coastal Living and have photos on their site.
Also search on Pinterest, there are so many photos there, if you are not a member already, you can sign up (free) and then browse photos with searches for your type of photos you want to view.

Sorry I couldn't be more help with photos.

CI, TZ, SdlM all growing nicely now. I think this will be a good fragrance bed. I put Lion's rose in the back to add beauty and a good leafy background even though it isn't much on scent. I think if the base gets shaded by the others, it won't get disease. There's room to the right of Abe Darby for one more big rose. I think it's going to be Evelyn. Hopefully, it will work some magic for me. This is a good morning sun spot and gets shade in the hottest times of the day. My summer is a little hotter than Hoovb's but maybe it's close enough. I'm going to hope for the best. The only downside to this location is that it will take the full force of the Santa Ana wind from across the street. We are along the Santa Ana river channel and the wind blows strongly through the gap. It seems to be shifting later than Halloween now. I used to call it the Halloween Wind.

Here are our cabinets and island furniture-style toe-kick area: I will admit, when the cabinets first went in, I was shocked...I wrote about it here, because I hadn't realized this was the style our cabinet guy had gone with until the cork floor was being installed, and I realized there wasn't a "notched-in" area. Our contractor told us this is what the cabinet builders had said. So---now that we've lived in this kitchen since November, I really don't notice the lack of space for a toe-kick recessed area at all. It's worked out fine. HTH!

Show me your living/family rooms with 'neutral' furniture

Here's our previous living room...cream painted paneling & ceiling, cream cotton damask armchairs, camel herringbone sofa, two Chinese-style bamboo side chairs, cream sheer drapery with deep hem-stitched hems at windows, brass lamps, a few pieces of neutral green pottery, small oriental rug, bare medium cherry-stained oak floors, and that's it. And this is our current (very different!) front parlor about two minutes after we moved in...haven't photographed it as it is now, but not a lot different. Yellow-toned cream walls (BMoore Linen White), same armchairs, same coffee table with different top, different oriental rug in shades of camel, rust, palest steel blue, and a wee bit of black. Added color with copper silk Roman shades in tops of windows.

Mimi: Seems like you haven't gotten many responses here - people are probably busy for the holidays. My $.02...I think the fabric has an updated feel, but not totally contemporary, so it works for me. I like the fabric a lot, my only concern is it against the Flower Pot walls. I love that Flower Pot color, but on my monitor there doesn't seem to be any red in the fabric, just a brown color. I would be concerned about the red not tying in or having to pull the red in elsewhere. But not sure if the monitor is correct. I happened to see an episode of Find Your Style on HGTV this afternoon. In the final room, they ended up with yellow walls, had brown leather chairs and also used blue. Below is a link. We have a beach cottage and I also wanted iron beds for a couple of rooms but DH is 6'4" and can't sleep with a footboard on our queen size bed. We found Wesley Allen beds at a local furniture store, which have the option of headboard only, no footboard. I don't know if they come in the finishes you want, but might be worth checking out. Ours are in a sort of white-washed/ivory color.

I looked at some of the Coastal Living painted furniture when we were first looking a couple years ago, and I almost did get yellow nightstands but then (1) realized they were too big for our room and (2) worried that I'd get tired of the color after a while. I ended up with small nightstands from a flea market.
