Tile backsplash for granite counter--- anyone have pictures?
Comments (8)Your bathroom sounds very pretty! Please don't forget to post pics when you are done.... I'm doing something similar to Steve... I am using a white 4x4 in a running bond pattern up to about 4 feet all around the room. My vanity is an antique dresser and the top is marble/quartzite (Vermont White) which is grey/white. The tile will extend about 10" above the vanity top....See MoreCan anyone identify this beautiful stone backsplash tile?
Comments (12)I had wondered if it might be Falling Water slate(I had seen that tile on this forum months ago). I do like Falling Water,(though I've never seen in it person, only in photos.) However, I believe that the stones in Falling water are only either 1" or 3/4" high, and the ones in the "mystery photo" appear to have some larger ones in there. I would like some larger ones like that. Maybe I could call the company to be sure. epressler--thanks so much for the link. I followed it, and fortunately, the photo had a tag (hover over with the mouse) giving the name of the supplier and of the stone!! How cool is that (don't you wish all those design photos did that!)So I googled, and I will put the link below to the tile supplier, Statements Tile, for anyone else who might be interested. I think I may email the mystery photo to both those tile companies and just ask if it could be there stone! Gigi- the photo came from Boxerpups' collection of design photos--as far as I can tell from her photo bucket album, there is no info from where it came! Newchapter--I wondered about limestone, too. I will check into it. Thanks eveyone, again. Here is a link that might be useful: Statements tile- Golden Gate Tumbled quartzitie...See MorePicasso travertine for backsplash, anyone have a picture?
Comments (1)Nice tile! I found one photo of this travertine in use. It's a bathroom, but you can see it on the wall. I think your off-white cabinets will be a better match with this tile than a white-white like the bathtub. Comments (0)Trying to decide between 1/8 and 3/16 grout line for small kitchen tumbled trav BS. After researching online, including GW, seems vast majority of owners strongly prefer smallest grout line possible...1/8" vs traditional 3/16.(Even read several comments that larger joint is an outdated look.) I'm hoping to hear from anyone who chose 3/16 and LIKES the look of a thicker grout line. Would love to see it. I would think it might make the shape/character of the natural stone pop a bit more to have that contrast/separation? But maybe I'm wrong. Is it harder to keep clean than a 1/8 grout line? (I'm going with 3 x 6 beige travertine bricks and matching grout...pretty light in color.)...See MoreRelated Professionals
