I will keep the flower theme. This peony started itself from pieces of a very old one that was destroyed when the house foundation was dug. It is one of dozens of tiny starts that popped up in the yard the next spring before the lawn was put in. It was in an appropriate place so I left it grow. It is now about 4 feet wide.

Beautiful flowers! I wish I had a computer that would allow me to smell them. Vique.

Since we have a flower theme going today, does anyone know what this might be? I saw it on an old abandoned property. It smells wonderful. It sort of looks like an apple blossom but it was only about 4 feet tall and rather bushy. Any ideas?

Kathy, my guess is Mock Orange. Mine got accidentally destroyed last year. :-(

Yes, the peony is very strongly scented. The lady that we bought this lot from, says that she remembers the peonies that were in the yard from the time she was a very small child. That lady is 98 now. Seems that flowers of all kinds have lost their scent.

Gazania, that looks just like the peony that I have. It is old too, it has been around since I was a child and I will be 55 this year. My Mom got it from a relative and it was old then. So it could be 100 years old or more.

Your christmas cactus may not be a xmas cactus.They also have them for easter,thanksgiving,etc,and to me they all look the same.So it's hard to tell which is which,at least for me it is.I have several and they bloom all different times of the year.
