I think people like things for kids.
Theme stuff like "Cars" or other movies,
& animals.
Great part is these are easy to make & can be smallish
like twin size.

I'm thinking baby quilts. They can be made for much less then bed size quilts and people seem to be much more inclined to spend the money on a hand made quilt for a baby. With the smaller size you would have more time and funds to make more options for the shoppers.

For style and color choices I would take a look at online stores and some local baby stores. This should give you an idea of what the "in" colors and themes are these days.

Price range depends on your area and how complicated the quilt is.

Tip: I found the Irish chain quilts (double and triple) are quick and easy to make, but have the added bonus of looking impressive. (As far as I know these are in public domain. You might want to double check so you don't run into any problems.) For babies you can do some cute appliques in the open areas for more interest.

I would agree with the others, but would also suggest lap quilts in 'adult' themes/colors. Anything bigger and I don't think you'd get any buyers unless they were priced really low.

Look for block patterns that create secondary patterns. These make the overall quilt look much more complicated and impressive.

In addition to the suggestions already made, I think I Spy quilts in a throw size (lager than crib, smaller than twin) would sell quickly.

Know your demographics. Predominently women frequent quilt shows. No one spends money like a grandparent and no quilt grabs a kid's fancy like an I Spy.

I think the quality and cost of the fabric, plus the time spent making the quilt will help determine the price. I also agree with Foxy. "Price range depends on your area and how complicated the quilt is"
