Best price on Blanco super-single sink GRID?
Comments (4)I see a few on eBay at the moment for your sink, but not for $24. I am not sure if you have the middle drain or the side drain, but both are available for $80 (free UPS-ground) through Home and Stone's eBay store. I paid about $90 for my Blanco grid almost a year ago through eBay. Here is a link that might be useful: BLANCO Grid...See MoreWhere can I buy a sink grid for my Benchmark SS sink?
Comments (5)sheila, I have to admit-the sink is beautiful! It's actually an Artisan 16 gauge sink, and seems really thick. (not much to compare to since I had a cheapy HD top mount before.) Searching Artisan on GW, it seems they do make a very high quality sink. Benchmark did a great job installing. We did have a big boo boo when one of my slabs broke in the driveway on a Thursday. The poor installer had to feel my wrath, since I was so over living without plumbing any longer and certainly not for another weekend, and the piece that broke made it impossible for my cooktop, dishwasher, or sink to be installed. I had an electrician and plumber scheduled for the next day. Benchmark stepped up to the plate and fabricated a new slab for me that night even tho it was already around 3pm. According to the supervisor they halted other production and worked late to make it happen as well as to squeeze me into the install schedule the next morning. I was so happy to get it installed very first thing the next morning! Mistakes and accidents happen, and it's how a business deals with them and makes them right that's important and Benchmark did the right thing by me. I can't complain. And an FYI to those Benchmark customers looking for a sink grid-Benchmark keeps a few on hand and can order them I believe (might be a good idea to ask for one when ordering the granite to make sure it's in stock) and they are very very reasonably priced. I got a D-shaped sink, and the grid was $30 with Benchmark. This was the same make/model/mfr grid I saw online for $80, made by the sink's manufacturer....See MoreSS Sink - Blanco vs. Elkay?
Comments (12)Charlikin, I looked a little further and found a couple of other suggestions: Kindred's granite composite - 25-3/4"L x 22-3/16"W x 9-1/8"D  Scroll down to the single bowls  They come in graphite, polar white and ivory. Astracast's granite composite - 25"L x 22"W x 8"D  Astracast's composite granite  They come in alpine white, sahara stone and metallic black Are these too wide for your counters? I had a problem finding the right sink, too. I have a 29" sink base and couldn't find anything that fit my specifications. For some reason they seem to make sinks really big or really small. Nothing in between. I went back and forth between granite composite and stainless. Then I ended up getting the Blanco Silgranit (511-712) 24" x 20 13/16" x 10". Yeah, it's deep and I'm getting used to the extra reach. But it certainly is beautiful! I was able to have my existing cabinets bumped out to accomodate the 20 13/16" width. I didn't want my fauct to be squished against the backsplash. I'm not trying to talk you into anything. Just wanted to let you know that I feel your pain. :-) So to answer the question that you actually asked about the stainless sinks, I agree with Weissman. "You really won't notice the nickel content or most likely the gauge either. Pick a sink because you like a look and the price." I don't think you could go wrong with Blanco or Elkay. They're both reputable names. HTH!...See Moredo you put SS Blanco grids in dishwasher?
Comments (4)I haven't had mine long-term yet (in use for about 6-ish months, I guess). Ours are chrome covered, not stainless steel, so I'm not sure if yours are the same or if they are actually stainless steel - I didn't see that as an option when I purchased our grids. Anyway, I have placed them in the dishwasher a few times and so far, they are holding up well. I also put my chrome plated cooling racks in the dishwasher as well and they have done just fine. Who am I kidding, almost everything goes into the DW except for my knives...and sometimes, they go in too if I don't think about what I'm doing. Oh, and my cast iron skillets don't go in, of course. Anyway, the knives seem to fare worse than the cooling racks or the sink grids. :-) And I must say that I just can't imagine why anyone washes anything by hand that doesn't have to be done that way. In the end, I don't put them in the DW all the time, but when they seem to be getting rather grubby, I'll put them in. I usually have them air dry rather than go through the heated drying cycle though. So far, so good....See Moreolga_d
