What color shutters would work with the yellow siding?
The shutters are an ugly brown color and the roof is orangey brown. The roof has a few more years in it, but I would like to change the shutters now. What color would work with the yellow and the brown roof? I was thinking a Sag Harbor grey color or maybe white?
OR should I just wait a few years till the roof becomes a grey color?
Any photoshop help?

Comments (1)Hard to say without a pic. I have a weathered wood roof with tannish- orangish bricks, SW creamy trim and SW tobacco doors/ shutters. Looks great but i had to get used to it after replacing a brown roof. Like this better as there are more door/trim/shutter color options now. Weathered wood is quite common in my subdivision so drive around and see what others have. Someone is likely to have a similar color scheme, even in ofher developments by the builder. Comments (58)myfoursquare - Thank you again! It's way easier to see your way than having them tipped up by the windows on the bottom. I really don't know if I like them. I'm kind of on the fence. Hubby likes your pic, but he also likes the white band with it which would maybe be too much. I think we should wait too until I can get to the door. Comments (4)Mark, stop giving people ideas. The flip house down the street just painted their shutters (on a pale yellow house with brown roof and accents) the brightest orange yellow imaginable. I guess they are trying to make sure the potential buyers notice them. Without seeing your house and how all of the elements relate, and how much there is of each, it's hard to give an informed response, I conceptually like the idea of doing the siding in one of the darker or lighter colors found in the brick to make the exterior more cohesive and not so chopped up into different materials. I would only do your gutters in a contrasting color if they are going to be especially ornamental with downspouts planed out with conductor boxes and such as if they were historic copper gutters. Comments (2)I would say either Driftwood, Estate Gray or Onyx Black based on your brick color, although it's hard to tell the colors in the brick from your photo. The roof color you choose would impact the siding and shutter colors. When you do the shutters I would not reinstall them on the double windows under the porch. 14 years agoHere's the more chocolate sienna, but adding some color in the landscape and some nice big window boxes. They may not be your favorite colors, but it looks great until you can make the changes you'd like to the roofing. Very homey and charming! : )

Yes, #12 was supposed to be black but it looks kind of very dark brown in some places.

14 years agoOur home is more of a creamy yellow, but the shingles are pretty close to yours. We have deep blue gables and will be adding matching shutters as in the virtual below.
