Give it up. You'll never get an exact match. Does it have to be Sherwin Williams? I couldn't find a good blue/gray either. Benjamin Moore's Affinity group has some lovely blue/grays.

Have you seen SW Oyster Bay? Colors look different on screen, but that's the color in my BR, and it looks similar to this. Kind of a green blue, but more green than blue.

Pratt & Lambert has a color very much like that.

Thanks for the other suggestions. I'm open to pretty much any brand. We've got 'em all fairly close to home: SW, BM, Lowe's, HD, Porter, Wal-Mart, etc.

We like the muted neutral color. The room opens to the kitchen, which is blue and white. Pratt & Lambert does have some muted greens. They are a little further out, maybe 20-30 min drive, but at least local.

Hate to tell you this but paint fades especially in rooms with a lot of sun light, so even if you do find the same color, it won't ever match. :c(

That's a good point. DH bought the house in 2003, and the paint was definitely not fresh for resale then. I'm just trying to get closer to a muted green vs. muted blue.

Can you contact the PO and ask what the paint color is? Even knowing who makes it would be a big help.

Have you looked at BM Saybrook Sage? You might also look at Misted Green.

Update: SW Halcyon Green is it. Got a sample, and it is spot on. They also said they are having a 25% off sale starting Sunday.

I am not that thrilled with their sheen choices, though. I would prefer eggshell over flat--looks too chalky to me, which they don't seem to offer eggshell. Otherwise, I guess satin?

Yes, BM can color match. Also, look at BM Wedgewood Grey. I am painting my daughters bathroom that color and it looks like your walls.

Ben Moore can color match and usually have SW colors in their computer too if you want one of the Ben Moore sheens. I like the BM washable matte sheen myself....

Thanks, I will either give BM a call about colormatching or if they have an equivalent shade. I used BM Regal in pearl finish for the kitchen paneling and then Satin Impervo waterborne for the cabinets. I am very happy with how they both turned out.

When I was trying to match a mystery paint color, the paint store suggested removing an outlet or switch plate and peeling off a bit of the drywall paper, then bringing it in for them to match via the computer. It actually worked very well. You'd have to hope the PO's actually removed the outlet covers when they painted so that the drywall under there is the same color though. But it might be worth a try.
