bebe-3 - Sorry, I'm just seeing your question. I've been trying to come up with my own color, as Limonata is WAY too bright! A quart of white paint later, it's finally looking better. Anyways- The aqua color on my 13 year old's room is a shade by Olympic (Lowes) called Aqua Chiffon A58-3. I took the paint chip to Sherwin Williams & they color matched it in their Supreme Satin finish. It's a great color - Don't let the Chiffon name full ya - it's bright enough for my teen, but not too bad that it sent Mom in a panic! LOL persnickety- thanks for the suggestions! I don't know what Revere Pewter would look like with the browns you have, but I've seen pictures of it with walnut and calacatta marble and it look very nice. Buy a sample and paint a board with several coats and set it in the room to see if you like it. It is a Benjamin Moore color.

The long panels will be half hidden by your sofa! If you have an alternate arrangement possibility? That would get you a different answer. Existing arrangement ? flatly NO, A WASTE OF MONEY TO GET A SAWED OFF RESULT. Invest in quality shades with light control versatility and good looks. Going for something else? Move the sofa!!!

@Rho Dodendron I get the concept of picking wall color last. You can get any color you want. However, I am a strong proponent of a whole home color palette. I decided on a whole home color palette based on the colors in my slate entry and worked with many of the things I own. Everything I buy and each room that I renovate has to work within the confines of my selected color palette. I have a system for selecting colors that starts with what must stay (expensive items that the owner cannot update or change ( kitchen cabinets, countertops, flooring, expensive furnishings) or items that the owner doesn't want to change (art, furniture, things that they love). Then I find out what colors make the owners heart sing. Those colors that will bring joy to the owner every time they see them. Then I work out a plan on how the colors will flow from room to room. Less expensive items like towels, shower curtains, bedding may be changed out numerous times before the walls need to be re-painted. I buy a new bedspread every year and change them out based on the seasons. Am I supposed to re-paint my bedroom every 3 months or should I look for bedding that works with my smoky purple bedroom?
