Help with fireplace and TV combo, please!
Comments (11)I will post just to show a different idea. We loved the original set up but hated the holes. Within a few months a spark flew out and burned hole in sofa arm while tending the fire. Real bummer. Sunglare on tv was horrible. With such a large room it just looked like fireplace was off. So we installed an insert which is waaaay more efficient and redid the fireplace wall. We did entire project- well, we did let the store set unit in wall and hook up the pipe but that was all they did- ourselves. We have talked about making one of those pictures that slides over to cover the tv but for now it is fine....See Morefireplace/tv wall needs help!
Comments (2)Change one of the tags on this post to design dilemma for more responses. I’d suggest filling in the recessed wall. Any chance seating could go at that spot and hang/set a TV to the left where a sofa is? Or is it an open area?...See MoreFurniture placement with TV and Fireplace on opposite walls
Comments (8)I love your current furniture placement. If you are buying new, I'd try a sofa by the windows, and two side chairs (swivel would be nice!) where your current sofa is. Put a coffee table in front of the sofa, and a sofa table behind it (with lamps), and then add a table between the two chairs....See MorePlease help - shelves living room, around fireplace and TV
Comments (13)I remove that mantel first thing. It is an add one and it doesn't fit, doesn't belong...seller must have thought it was "staging". Without it, you are able to design the abutting walls. Shelves mean adding things. I am not good at that...it looks easy when you see examples of odds and ends looking great, but it takes some doing and some money to make it work well. What about art, instead?...See Moreamykath
