Crown Molding from 1980s can't find HELP!

Anyone on Garden web have suggestions where I might find the type of crown molding in the pics below. The big box stores, Home Depot & Lowe's do not have it. There is one that is close but not the same. I need to have just a little to finish off my kitchen remodel. I do not want to have to rip out the whole kitchens crown because I can't find a couple of feet of this. Can any of you guys help? Ideas?

It looks like a common crown but no one can help you without a profile drawing that includes dimensions.

over on the kitchen forum I got an answer that said this so i have something to go on already. If you have anything else to add that would be appreciated.

That looks like a very common Kelleher molding. I would suggest taking the sample to an actual lumber yard or molding provider. I don't usually include Lowes or HD in that category. You can call and ask them if they sell Kelleher molding. You can also download Kelleher's catalog.
Worse comes to worse, you can get it custom made. My favorite local molding house is SF Victoriana. They are willing to match older moldings, but I doubt you will need to do that.

This is the most common profile for crown. It will be available, just get the right height. I suggest a millwork lumber yard rather than a box store if you want to get primed real wood for a decent price.

I like the idea of simplifying the flooring in the sunken area but still matching it. You are lucky that you have Two steps to the sunken area. One step is a tripping hazard, two is enough of a change that people pick up on it. You may need the railing in some regard because of traffic patterns and making sure people don't fall off it in some areas, however, I do like the idea of creating more entry points. If you Do think you can do without the railing, your furniture arrangement may have to be such that it dictates certain entry points, and clarifies to people that the area is sunken. You should have a handrail to assist people up and down in any case, particularly if you have elderly relatives. Thank you for the update.

To start we need an actual to scale drawing of the space as it is all measurements clearly marked , all windows doorways too. If plumbing can’t be moved make sure you note that. I find it is easier to use graph paper when doing a to scale plan. Your next move is to find out if either wall is load bearing/ I need your budget and a lot more info as to how many people live here how much seating you need how you cook so many things go into renovations. BTW when you do the drawing make sure you at least say what all the adjoining spaces are.

Thank you for answering. We live outside Richmond, Virginia in a 150ish year old home. My kitchen has been finished except for crown moulding for 4 years- originally it was out back, not included in the original footprint ; therefore, I don't have a " go- by" I've been looking for the "perfect" crown for awhile ;^) I've looked online, at local independent lumberyards like Siewers and Big boxes. I am more than willing to have cutters made to mill ourselves or purchase poplar for paint grade. It's easiest for the man who makes the cutters for us to have an example. Come to think of it, he makes cutters for TOH. Guess I'll contact him Monday. Might be nice to just find it milled to save a step :^) DH travels a lot for work.

Try googling and looking for online catalogs of crown molding. There are tons of them.

Yup, go to a real lumber yard in your area. That's a standard profile, anyhow.

HD or Lowe's carries something like it, too although their sizing can be a tiny bit different from lumber yard stuff. Are you sure you didn't see anything like it over there? (It can look different up on the shelves to the untrained eye.)

What is the overall length, the height to the ceiling, and the width to the wall?

It looks pretty large for such a simple profile (this profile is not usually more than 4 5/8" in overall length) so I doubt you will ever find an exact match and having a small amount custom made would be very expensive.
