Thanks jruter and oylchick ! On the curtain. The rods I had they are tension rods. I just moved them to the ceiling. My ceiling is about 8.5 feet. The outer curtain is a set from ikea. Mostly decorative but if someone needed in the bathroom while someone was in the shower/bath they would provide privacy if closed. The inner is an 84 inch clear shower curtain. For me that was perfect it hits inside the 20/21 inch( cant remember which it is right now) about 6/7 inches in. Since this is a jetted tub it has an air intake that I didn't want it to cover so it wouldn't get caught if jets where on. This one is from bed bath and beyond. But I found a 96 inch online then measured an realized that covered the air intake so I didn't order it. Honestly, I googled 96 inch clear shower liner and extra long shower curtain liner to find it. The fan over the tub is also a light so I wasn't worried about light. I have hung all my curtains at the ceiling in the house and love the look. Tip most ikea curtains are 96 inches or 110 and they come with hem tape so they are a great source for full length curtains. But they didn't have a long shower liner. I will try to grab a picture later.

The basic plan it to draw an imaginary line between the "inside" conditioned areas and the "outside" areas. Any place that those 2 meet, you want to seal up any air movement and then add a layer of insulation. (If you have plywood or similar on the floor, you might have to take that up temporarily to seal and add the insulation. ) For venting, you want vents at the lowest point and vents at the highest point and nothing obstructing air from flowing between the two. That way, cool air is pulled in from the bottom and hot air vents through the top. That keeps the attic cooler in summer and keeps heat from building up and melting snow in winter.

UGH !!!!! My project is an original door that's been in this house since it was made 100 years ago. I'm using this "nuclear waste" that they call paint stripper ~ lol It works like a charm but the door has these little nooks and crannies around each panel in the door , and I don't know how to go about getting the paint remover out of those grooves. Every little brush I tried just got gunked up and just moved the paint stripper around. It didn't remove anything . If you have a hint or trick you could share ???? :) This is my first attempt at stripping paint ... might be my last ,too !!!! PS ....... It was actually interesting to remove layers of paint and see the colors that the door was painted over all these years. The original color under the paint was canary yellow ! It must have been popular in 1919 . Even the door knob was yellow ! The next color was some kind of mossy green. The next color was tan and finally white. It was fun to see all that !

It's been awhile since I made an update, but this is where I'm at now: Crown moulding is installed and painted. Double-curtain rods and sheer curtains are up, but talked to my aunt who mentioned that I should consider reinstalling them above the window to give the windows a longer sleeker look. Took down the art deco chandelier to have it cleaned and fixed, but I accidentally tipped it over while it was on the floor and it shattered into a thousand pieces. Turns out it was made of cheap pewter. So I found and installed a Turkish style chandelier I received from a seller in Turkey on Etsy. I also installed similar styled Turkish sconces (I'll be replacing the globes with more colorful ones soon). I pulled up the carpet from both rooms. I painted the fireplace insert black. I painted the ugly gold lamp stands black, and added new shades. Things still left to do: I'm still looking for a chandelier for the living room. Repair and refinish the floors (the floor needs a number of boards refilled). Figure out what to do about the gap between the floor and the quarter-round/baseboard that was revealed after I pulled the carpet up. Replace current projector screen with a floor-rising one so that I'm no longer covering 80% of the front window at all times. Install a picture rail about an inch and a half under the crown moulding. Update/add electrical outlets (which will include an upgrade to my breaker). replace carpet in the living room with a Persian style carpet that's approx. 9' x 12'. Replace couch and coffee table. Retile the front of the fire-place. Have a number of the cracks in the plaster repaired. Acquire and hang paintings and framed posters on the walls. And that's just the Living Room and Dining Room. Sigh...
