Front door replacement-anyone used Formanek

Need to replace front door & we're locked into Jeldwen brand since it's a brick home and door has 2 sidelights & elliptical above. Other brands don't match the elliptical arch. Current door is rotting at the wood strip between door & sidelights because it wicks up moisture at the bottom.

Initially we wanted a wood-stained fiberglass door; however our door gets direct sunlight from the southwest & we've been told the fiberglass may/will fade. A fiberglass unit runs $7425 plus installation.

So now we're considering a steel door (which is what we currently have) but the new one would have Formanek oak on the interior. So the exterior would be pre-painted & interior would be factory-stained oak to match our current wood-work. This unit runs $8125 plus installation.

Either unit would be completely clad & pre-finished so there would be no painting or staining other than if the fiberglass faded down the road. Plus this time they make continuous sills (not available when we built). To complicate matters we have a dark brick home with bronze trim so we're trying to determine a good "lighter" color (recommended by sales reps) for the door that will still look nice.

So, anyone have experience with Jeld-wen or fiberglass doors in general fading or melting? Or experience having to touch up a faded fiberglass door? Anyone have experience with the Formanek product (steel door with oak interior)? We thought we paid a lot when we installed the door 12 years ago & don't want to have to do this again anytime soon.
