Looking for paper pieced tree pattern

Somewhere on one of my forums there was a link posted to a paper pieced pattern for a pine/Christmas tree. I think it was called Jewel Pine Tree, and the tree was made from different jewel toned fabrics. If anyone remembers this pattern, please post the link again.

Was it this one? This is more of a stack and cut - not necessarily paper pieced.

There's one in the new issue of McCall's Quilting called Jeweled Forest. It's paper pieced using brights. Pattern is in back of magazine. I'll bring my copy for you or you can just buy one off a newstand at a JoAnns.

Using paper pattern - top quilting

I have used regular computer paper. You have to be real careful when pulling it out, though. You can also use tissue paper or a store bought item called "golden" something something. This paper comes in a variety of widths and is gold colored; this is the most highly recommended brand. It tears easily, and water will wash away any remaining pieces. Whatever you use, make your stitches teeny-tiny!!

Thanks for the comments. As for pattern choices... my goodness they're difficult! One pp that I chose that I thought would be simple, turned out to be a nightmare to make (my apologies!). I would love to choose more complex/adult/mature patterns, but I worry about whether they would scare away beginner level quilters. Another problem I'm running into is that there are a lot fewer non-juvenile themed patterns in pp that are on free sites. And many of the applique patterns seem awfully time consuming for a lotto, though I love them.... such as floral wreath patterns. The last couple of lottos, I've tried having pp and applique in the same month so that quilters who enjoy one technique, but not the other, don't need to sit out a cycle. And it's very difficult finding TWO patterns, one pp & one applique (in the same or similar sizes) that will go together in the same project. I'll try a couple of more lotto cycles, but would definitely welcome suggestions of pattern/fabric combinations that fit the criteria I'm trying to meet each month. Thanks, Kay

I may do this one as well. I want more Xmas colors and may go for maroons and various greens on white. I can see embellishments on the trees like beads and a star on top. Maybe too much glitz but I'm in my embellishment period right now.

Did anyone get the Jeweled Forest Christmas tree pattern from McCalls? I wrote as directed on the site to order the pattern,but it never came.
