We want to put a mid-size microwave oven on a shelf in a kitchen cabinet and hide it with a door when not in use. There is alot of space above and to the back of the microwave, but very little on the sides. I have been doing my research, trying to find a microwave that vents to the back, not the sides, and have so far not been able to find one.
The pictures I have seen of this situation has the microwave sitting pretty tightly in the space on the shelf, however the manufacturers seem to want 3-4 inches on each side. We will have about 24" inside the cabinet in width to work with. Does anyone have this setup, and can it work without alot of side space, but extra space above and to the back? We would not be using a trim kit, due to hiding it with the door.
