One of my cycling buddies always brings it to the campout/cookout bike weekends. His recipe: RAMEN NOODLE SALAD 1 8 oz. pkg. slaw mix (from the produce counter) 1 pkg. Ramen noodles (any flavor) 1 c. sunflower seeds (roasted) 1 small pkg. slivered almonds Green onion tops (if desired) Mix all preceding together. Break the noodles into small pieces. DON'T cook noodles. Dressing mix: ý c. oil 2 Tbsp. Sugar 3 Tbsp. White Vinegar* Seasoning mix from noodles Pour dressing over noodle/slaw mix and let set over night OR for a crunchy salad, add dressing just before serving (I do the latter). * For variety, try balsamic vinegar (my favorite) or red wine vinegar. For the campouts, I double the ingredients except for the sunflower seeds and almonds. It seems to me that about 1 to 1 1/4 cups of sunflower seeds and a 4-ounce package of slivered almonds is plenty, even for a double batch.
