How about a butterfly chair...linked below? There are cheap ones that are pretty flimsy, but there are also sturdier ones available. I liked the matching ottoman offered at the site I linked. As for a table, I think I would find a stool or garden seat that would fit under the desk/vanity area so that it does double duty as a stool or a table.

Thanks for the great ideas Annie, White River and Fun! I like all 3 - the butterfly and the Ikea chairs are light and easily moveable. I think the room might be too small for a loveseat at the end of the bed (when its down) but I'll just have to measure and see. That would be great - sit in the loveseat with a cup of coffee and look out the window and when there is a guest, just pull the bed down and move the loveseat to the end of the bed.

Ratherbe, yes, this is my room now - we just purchased a furnished condo at the beach. But the built-ins will stay as is - actually I'm kind of liking them, took me a bit, but its good storage space and I like the desk and it opens up the living/dining space nicely.

Katy - thanks for your contribution and great idea! I really, really like the idea of a pretty chair on wheels that is easy to be relocated when the bed comes down! Please excuse my late "thank you", I just saw this today. I think this forum moves so fast that maybe this thread got pushed off the first page and, well, I just didn't see it.

We won't be back to this condo until the winter and so far, I've been just browsing through Homegoods every week but will probably wait until we're back there live and in person to actually buy something.
