need help with living room remodel. Is this the right rug?
Comments (152)Its the one with this caption " June 15. I kind of like this transitional rustic vibe you've got going here, so I didn't paint your fireplace or add a mantel. I like the way it echoes your front door. I replaced the rug with a Moroccan style 9 x 12, but I like your rug better. I think you could use a swivel chair, and I replaced your coffee table with Crate & Barrel's Seguro. Also added frames and candles on the mantel and raised your drapes."...See MoreArea rug to update living room, please help
Comments (12)Beverly, Thanks for your comments. You are correct, the recliner was his from 20 years ago but he is so done with it. I am the one who wouldn’t part w it because I spent so much time w my 2 boys in that recliner when they were babies lol. You just make my husband a very happy man today - the recliner will be gone lol. I also agree w you the loveseat might need to move down. The funny thing is the location you suggested is the exact location I had it before the whole area rug diploma started. We had the loveseat more toward the center and used to hide all those toys behind the loveseat. Since the kids are a bit older now, we just can’t help but push the loveseat all the way up to reclaim our space. As you can see from the photo I moved it down. The only thing bothers me is that fire place is off center focal point in this layout... Also would you suggest do a separate seating area towards the top of the room? We used to set it as a play area, it totally empty now...should we move the console by the window down and put a pouf or some low seating bench there instead? Thanks again for your input....See MoreNeed help picking the right living room rug

Comments (9)The first thing I would do is get thet TV off the FPit is hung way too high and it looks like a heatilator type FP so the ventting of it will ruin the TV. Try thinking of the FP as one focal point and the TV either wall monted on an articulating arm beside the TV or that TV on the wall beside the kitchen doorway and rearrange the furniture For us a to scale floor plan is always helpful showing all the measurements , windows doorways etc The to scale plan is a great addition to the pics it helps getting a feel for the space . For sure at least give us the measurements of the room...See Moretuesday_2008
