If its a rental house, use white toilets and sinks and tub. Tenants can manage to break the toilet tank and I have seen them crack a sink. The colored sinks, etc. and parts thereof cannot always be purchased years later in the same color. Toilets need replacement oftener.
I just toured a home after a tenant moved out and sometimes it is discouraging what they have managed to wreck. Even tenants who were carefully screened but they get divorces, their little kids turn into Damien, etc. However, I have been renting out property a long time, so simplest is best. Look how dated the pink sink,tub & toilet look. If they were white you might not be replacing them all.

We aren't replacing them because they are dated, but because of a leak that rotted the floor. So you think that very light beige wouldn't work(as in the tile that is pictured)? thanks for your input.

White fixtures, and I wouldn't splurge on a Toto either. You want something that is readily available at your local big box, so when it's inexplicably smashed to smithereens, you can go and just buy the replacement tank and not have to wait on a special order whole set. Something like the American Standard Cadet will take a lot of abuse, have a better flush mechanism, and still be cheap and readily available. THe same with the tub and basin. Whatever's decent quality, but cheap. If you spend a lot on this bathroom, you'll just end up having to spend it again in 5-8 years time when it's totally damaged because it's a rental. Save yourself some money. You can still have some style on the cheap, but don't do anything that's not readily available. And, buy plenty of extra tiles to store in the attic for those that will become damaged by tenants. It's almost impossible to match even stock tile a few years down the road, and a repair always shows worse with "not quite matching" tile than it does with the original tile.

Be sure and sell your fixtures to a salvage place or even on eBay. I'd love to have that pink sink, since a previous owner took ours out and just left the pink toilet and tub.

If you feel you must replace, I would second the vote for white, but everything looks to be in good condition. Why not just touch up around the tub are and put some new vinyl on the floor?

The floor next to the tub is so rotten that you can poke a finger through it. So... we have been told that the tub must come out so the floor can be replaced. Do you think this is bad advice?

Gloria, where do you live? We don't have plans for the pink sink if you want it.

What era is that bathroom? My grandparents had one just like it and it holds nice memories - I have to admit, I like it.

Thanks Anita for the offer. I'm in Alaska so the shipping on those iron ones is prohibitive. But they really are popular. So many were pulled out with 70-80 remodels. Check out salvage places in your neck of the woods. You could still use the fixtures and same some $$ if you replaced the subflooring and had the re-installed. I really love our old tubs. The are deeper and more comfy than most standard tubs on the market.

I agree about selling your fixtures to a salvage place. I was just hoping that someone would haul away our pink set without charging me, and I got someone to buy it.
