What color Silgranit sink should I get?

Hi all! I am putting in a brand new kitchen with painted white maple cabinets, dark soapstone counters with little veining, and brushed nickel hardware. What color Silgranit sink do you think I should get? Thanks in advance!

I'd vote black (anthracite). White would look nice with your cabinets and give it that farm sink feel, but black would make it sort of disappear AND I think it would be easier to take care of. I have dark granite and a black siligranit sink and I love the way they go together. Personally I don't like the metallic gray siligranit, I think it looks like it's trying to look like SS, and I hate SS sinks!

I struggled with the same question as you. I am also doing white cabinets with either a soapstone or emerald pearl granit countertop(still can't make up my mind) . In the end I went with a swanstone nero(black) sink so that it would blend together. Nothing is installed yet so I can't tell you if I am happy with my decision yet or not =).

I would make sure it's Silgranit II. Silgranit II is superior to the original Silgranit, which Blanco phased out several years ago. Since this is a display model, who knows how long it's been there. I don't know how to check that it's Silgranit ii - perhaps a serial number? Or call Blanco's customer service number - they are very helpful. I would also compare this display model's price to what this model would cost brand new from a reputable website like qualitybath, faucetdepot or amazon. These sites don't charge for shipping, and you won't pay sales tax. Make sure the discount for the display model is sizable enough to make this display model a better choice than a new one. Lastly, examine the display model with a flashlight for cracks. Silgranit sinks are really tough, but there have been cracks in the sinks reported that occur when they aren't installed, and have been handled roughly in transit--or perhaps on display.

The Homeperfect site is working today. If you think you didn't get what you paid for and you are concerned about durability, then I'd return it. The number on their website is 1-888-850-3999. (That might be a sales line; they should be able to give you a customer service number. Also there should be a number in the paperwork you got with your order.) If the description on their website didn't specify whether it's the I or II model then that wouldn't necessarily be a reason to return it (in their minds) but you also have the issue with the scuff mark that you could use as a reason. If the description did have a model number that's different than the model number on the box you received, that's certainly a valid reason for a return. I'd also call Blanco's customer service rather than waiting for an email response. Then you can have a live conversation about your concerns.

thank you both for your replies...helpful and appreciated. i really like the look of both, so i have decided to go with my original decision...oil rubbed bronze. Partly because I don't like any other faucet as much as the one I chose! It is the spiral pull down kind, so you see the inside hose which looks silverish, so I think it might be a nice choice which incorporates both. I may hate the soap dispenser being brown on brown, but at least these are things that CAN be changed. I have about a month to go until I know if I've made a regrettable decision...

prospect.... I love your cabinets, counters and backsplash! We will very soon be picking cabinets for our new house and I'd like something like yours. What wood are they... cherry? We will have hickory floors throughout and we'd like something like what you have for our cabinets. Do you mind sharing the backsplash brand and paint color? Definitely the black. I'm going through the same question, except with no black in my kitchen it isn't an option. Wish my choice was that easy. Have you seen the recent thread on silgranit sinks? There's some nice photos on it.

Just to add a comment to rmlanza's observation that the gray Silgranite looks like they're trying to mimic SS: not so, in reality. Although Blanco calls it "metallic gray," the actual finish is a flat or perhaps satin-ish gray, not at all metallic-looking, and quite handsome IMO (I hate SS sinks, too.) Trust me; it's currently sitting in my living room. Won't hold water, but handy as a temporary bar.
