how should I handle my custom sink?

I'm doing a refresh of the kitchen, and one of the things I need to make a decision on is the sink/faucet. We're pulling out the current drop-in ceramic sink and laying stainless counters over the current laminate counters. I am planning to do a custom, single-bowl integrated sink built by the fabricator.

Thing is, look where my faucet is. IN THE SINK, not the counter! Of course I just realized this and the fabricator is coming tomorrow to template.

I can think of a few options:

- bring the back perimeter of the sink in to make room. But this gives me a narrower sink, which would be a bummer and a half

- create a little bump-out in the sink the way it is now, in the new sink. This makes me sad, as it won't look like a nice clean rectangular opening in my sink.

Can you guys think of any other options?
