Labeling Quilts

Hi-

I'm new here and I've got a question.

I've recently learned that I'm in danger of having my sewing machine confiscated if I don't label my quilts. Well, I can't have that so I guess I have to start labeling.

I am working on a baby quilt and I got some printable fabric to make a label. I set up my computer to print the pic that was on the announcement along with the details and my name and completion date. I was really pretty excited that I could get his picture on it. But when I went to do the actual printing I noticed that the package says the ink jet ink is water soluable. Drat!

A baby quilt needs to be washed endlessly and what's the point of a label that goes blank after the first washing? Is there some washable alternative?

I know I could get a water fast marker to trace the text but I could never paint in the baby pic. I need help!!!

Thanks in advance.
