I posted this same question on another forum that I frequent and low and behold Kmart of all places has some wonderful resin wicker furniture that looks almost exactly like what I was looking at for 3/4's the price. I ordered a full size sofa, 2 chairs, coffee table and 2 end tables. They are heavy, almost the same color and while the cushions aren't what I showed (they will be yellow) I will add colorful pillows and will be great. I am thrilled and they are going to be delivered in less then 2 weeks for everything! I've got some power washing to do and then some painting and it's going to look terrific. I have to hold off a bit because of weather but I'm excited. I've been using old furniture out there for the last 4 years and this will be a fresh new start along with all the new landscaping that I worked on last season in the backyard (worked by behind off!!!). Be sure to buy early! Depending on where you live, if you wait until May or June to buy, you might not find them. I looked EVERYWHERE last year and this is where I found them: Lowes, Home Depot, Pier 1, World Market, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods, garden centers, and patio furniture stores. By the time I looked, I think JCP was out of them - but the clerks did tell me they sold them. Even Wal-Mart has them, but I didn't like their quality. I finally found mine at a local nursery/garden center that sells a lot of furniture, patio and decor items. Good luck!

Could a local upholstery place make the slip covers? And what about posting an ad FOR a sewing machine on CL? Lot's of people get machines that get very little use, so you might get a deal. Aside from the ribbing, which would intimidate me some (and I sew) I think a basic square slip cover would be pretty easy, even for a novice. Mainly it's just cutting the sections accurately and then sewign them together. I'm not versed myself in doing it, but with a tutorial, I think you'd be good. Then you can make curtains, and pillows and sew sheets together to make your own duvets, and???

I have also been in "pursuit" of some outdoor wicker solid color cushions to replace what I have. I have found that the usual places have very somber colors this season and not at all what I was looking for. Last night, my husband found a large assortment of bright colors--solid and print at Home Decorators. They also have a natural (beige) one.
