White Sink w/ Stainless Appliances???

Has anyone done this- do you have pics?? It's a small kitchen, we're doing wood countertops and stainless appliances, with white cabinets. A white drop in sink looks really good on a wood countertop, especially w/ an oil-rubbed bronze faucet. Originally was going to do an undermount stainless sink, but really thinking about the white drop-in? I think it works great w/ the cottage feel of the white beadboard cabinets and wood tops- thoughts?? If you have a picture, PLEASE post- thanks very much!!

On this thread, I posted pics of my white drop in sink (love the sink - Kohler, SmartDivide) and butcher block (oak, from IKEA). I do have other photos lurking around, after the installation of the granite, but I think that this will give you an idea? For some reason, I love enamel sinks. Wish that appliances were made of the same!

I have stainless appliances (except paneled dishwashers) and white drop in sinks in the gray laminate perimeter counter and in our wood-topped island. I don't like stainless sinks, and love the white.

We bought the house we are in now almost three years ago-and it had white cabinets, white appliances and cream laminate counters. VERY WHITE....we too had to buy a fridge and I couldn't decide if it was okay to buy SS and went with white so it would "match" the others. Now we have replaced the counters and ALL the appliances with SS. I wish I would have just purchased the SS fridge I wanted from the start-I think it is certainly okay to mix them-and if you buy the white knowing you plan to eventually replace the other ones you may regret it-I did immediately. Now my almost 3 year old fridge is in the garage-which is fine...and I do love having it there-but would have saved me $2500 to just get the SS to begin with.

cyn427 is right ... the furry things are my two Newfoundlands. Funny, I didn't even realize they were going to be in the picture, but this is the second time people have looked at that photo and wondered if maybe I just have oddly tall rugs. Graywings, sorry I can't be of much help on the cabinets. They came with the house. I don't think they are a super high-end brand (the house was mostly used as a summer residence before we bought it) because the joinerwork isn't fantastic, but I have to say they are holding up really well. We think they were probably installed in 1991 when previous owners did a pretty big remodel. They are in need of a new paint job now, but other than that they work pretty well. I've not found any kind of sticker or plate identifying the manufacturer.

We moved into the home about a year ago; it's our 'starter home.' We will be selling and moving to a larger home in probably 3-5 years. It's a fairly small kitchen (less than 50 sq ft of counter top) in a fairly small house (~1,100 sq ft, 2 bed, 1 bath). We looked into quartz, granite, solid surface, etc. but the price hike just isn't worth it. Adding something that nice to this house won't raise the value very much. We aren't touching the cabinet, appliances or flooring either. Just replacing counter top and backsplash. The laminate (with a nice edge) and new backsplash should make the kitchen look WAY better. IMHO, the decision bet. SS and Silgranit does have to do with looks, but also has to do with cleanability. We were about to pull the trigger on a Kraus 16-gauge stainless sink for our kitchen redo. But then we thought about our current stainless sink's water spots and also how quickly the sink looks dirty or dingy. Yes, it shines beautifully immediately after cleaning, but that doesn't last long. We changed to a Blanco Silgranit, and while it's not installed yet, what a relief it'll be not to have to deal with the water spots any more. We chose the Anthracite color cause it'll look good with our granite. We went single bowl, without hesitation. The kitchen is small, we have room for a 30" sink max, and we didn't like the idea of bowls too small to soak the largest pans. The topic of single or double bowl sinks is discussed A LOT on this forum. One point mentioned frequently that resonates for me is that double bowl sinks were great when many people didn't have a dishwasher. But we spent $$$ on a dishwasher, and can see no reason now to have a double bowl for separating clean water from dirty, or soapy water from clear water or whatever. That, plus our 30" maximum size, made a double bowl not make sense for us.

I LOVE my white sink and my stainless appliances. I wouldn't want any other kind of sink than what I have - white enameled cast-iron. Yes, my appliances are stainless, but so is my faucet, and so I think it will be fine.

Thanks, Lynch! Actually the cabinets around the range area are light gray. (BM Sabre Gray) It doesn't photograph very well, but I don't think they give a green impression in person.

This particular sink can be installed either as self-rimming or as undermount, which I think is so cool. It is 33" x 18 3/4" x 9 5/8"

Our island sink is one of the Iron/Tones line that can be undermount or self-rimming. We have that same sink in our laundry room, too.
