I just love your new and improved kitchen with beautiful new cabinets and that new kitchen floor is wonderful. I also love the stooks and counter top you created along with the cut out window! It is amazing how beautiful it has become. What color and wood is the cabinets? What color and material is the floor since I have to change my floor that is beyond repair in my kitchen as well as refinish my worn kitchen cabinets.

My DD had kitchen and dining room paper exactly like yours. She painted it before selling. It was a 70's house, too.

I wouldn't worry about making the garden post here. Just not the most likelyhood of getting good responses here as not all are into gardening and I think that is what some were trying to point out. If you go to the gardening forum try the one that is similar to your area. For example I often visit the Texas garden forum as I know I'll get info better there that works for my area.

Thank goodness you had the ability to see beyond that awful "Before" kitchen, as most people would have just walked away shaking their heads. And, thank goodness for your husband and FIL to do it all. What a beautiful transformation! It must be a joy to cook in there now. Congrats!

Your garden post wasn't "wrong" at all -- we do help each other with curb appeal etc -- but you were asking for specific plants, and we don't tend to get into that level of detail. (: Sorry if I made you feel unwelcome -- not at all my intention!

Until 3 years ago, WE had a stove exactly like your old one! Plus we had a brown double sink and brown dishwasher!

Wow! I think my aunt and uncle had that wallpaper in their kitchen when I was a kid. Doesn't look as nice now as then. Haha! Great job!

Wonderful job! I think your old orange, flowered wallpaper was the same as in my childhood house. LOL

kitchen cabinets: Wellborn- cherry wood, cocoa stain/finish (door style is called Savannah)

floor tile: the manufacturer is Rondine, the color is cinnamon. we got the really big tile since its a big kitchen- 16x16", with I believe a 6x6" size as an accent tile

to TraceyB and anyone else who wanted to know, the paint color is Benjamin Moore- sienna clay....we bought 5 different paint samples and this is the one I loved!

actually that would be my Finnish mother who was wondering that!! I'm not even kidding, she thought I should've left it the way it was (although that's when we gutted the whole thing and she was looking at an empty room, she thought we were wasting money!) and she absolutely adored the wallpaper- green & orange, her favorite colors!! lol

I appreciate all the kind words, sometimes I think we need some encouragement to keep redoing this house!! one room at a time, we will fast forward out of the 60's & 70's!! lol

Ziggy, it takes real vision to be able to look past the old wallpaper, paneling, cabinets! I probably would have had to paint the whole thing white just to be able to half-ways focus on it! It's so very nice, and doesn't even seem to be the same house.
