Does anyone know of a crazy quilt pattern..

I think you use 13" squares, 9 of them, and cut the stack 9 times? and have a pattern of rotating accordingly after certain cuts?? I emailed the person who showed me years back, no response yet, cant think of the name of it or find the direx..they are here somewhere..lol Thanks Debbie

I think what you want is Karla Alexander's "Stack the Deck" quilts. There's a book and she has a website. I've made one and it is very easy and fun.

You stack up seven fabric squares, any size you want really, and slice the stack several ways randomly to yield the seven pieces. Then you shuffle each of the seven pieces, one stack at a time so they become assorted and sew them back together. I took her workshop and she's just wonderful.

On her website, if you look in the gallery you'll see the Stack the Deck quilt and that's the one I made. It looks like a watercolor quilt but that's only with that specific selection of fabrics.

Thanks, but that one doesn't have the narrow middle strips. That's the part I really would like directions for. I know how to do a normal quarter square triangle. On the quilt I saw, the block I drew was put together with sashing strips the same color and width as the strips making the X through the block. It looked really neat when finished. p.s. I have googled "quilt block with divided triangles", "quilt block with 4 triangles and X through the middle", "quilt block with X in the middle", "quilt block with triangles separated by strips" and I can't find it. The closest thing I found is this blog and it's not the same.
