A glass of water will do it for my dinner. We were out for a long lunch with "the old folks" and ate way too much...chicken and biscuits, tossed salad and the best peanut butter pie! If DH wants anything, I'll offer him 2 glasses of water. He is on his own if he wants anything else.

Just take out pizza here. Patti, I love the vodka sauce but no one else I cook for cares for it that much so I haven't done it in a long time. I had a great day in the garden planting flowers. I discovered birds using the ornamental bird house my hubby made 3 years ago and I was so excited.

Today was grocery shopping day with Amber and Alyssa. Lunch was at Logan's. I had the southwestern barbecued chicken, coleslaw, onion petals, and yeast rolls. I gave my fried apples to Alyssa. Iced tea to drink. I brought half of my chicken home so that was for supper along with some salad and iced tea. Nice day out again, 81 and breezy here now. Patti are your peaches good? Mine are really good. Amber says Alyssa loves them too. She holds on to them and eats like a squirrel holding on to an acorn :)

Pam, I don't make my own sauce although I do have Rachael Ray's recipe for it. I use Publix Premium and it's delish, so I don't see the need to make it. Great find to see birds in your bird house. Do you know what kind of birds? Are there eggs? After all that work the pizza's going to taste great!

Aw Sue, that sweet little Alyssa is eating people food. Bet she was a sticky mess after that peach, but what the heck! Our peaches were just short of ready. They aren't very big but we left them out overnight and they're getting ready to eat. I can't wait! Did you find any bargains at the grocery this week?

A cauliflower casserole from allrecipes.com........made with sour cream, cheddar, chopped peppers. Smells great. If that's not satisfying, I do have some soup left over that I can heat quickly.

Sliced bbq brisket sandwiches and seasoned oven fries

I had a lowfat recipe in my 'to try' list, for broccoli cheese soup. I made that today and it was pretty darned good. I had that for my evening meal, along with a salad topped with fried chicken strips.

The Amish are having a spaghetti dinner, all you can eat for $8 this coming Friday. My sister and I thought of going but it's just going to be too hot to eat in a non-ac building.

Leftover meatloaf made into sandwiches and potato chips. It was too hot to cook anything.

Ravioli with Marinara sauce. I did make the sauce and had it frozen. I was not much in the mood for cooking tonight. Was with some friends trying to plan the after funeral events for my friends husband when the time comes which is imminent. Also spent most of the day cooking for a golf picnic tomorrow. This is a yearly event. This course does not have restaurant facilities so I make a picnic lunch for everyone and we go to the connecting winery, buy some wine and use their patio to set up our picnic. Everyone loves it because I do all the work. LOL

Jody cooked some pork chops while I was still outside putting up the chickens and feeding the possums and cats. I was really glad I didn't have to come in and cook. He fixed one of those flavored rice things in a bag. He asked me if I wanted him to fix something else to go with it....and I said no....that was fine.

Seems like it's just too hot to cook or eat in most parts of the country. I've seemed to lost my appetite somewhere--not that that's a bad thing!

Marilyn, maybe I could eat better if I didn't have to stand over the stove and cook it. Appreciate Jody's cooking while he's still willing to do it--trust me on this!!

Georgysmom, I feel bad for the family of your friend. This has got to be such a hard time for them. Shoot, I'd love a picnic too, if someone else did all the work. Bless your sweet heart!

Linda, I love cold meat loaf sandwiches with mustard. I've been known to put potato chips on my sandwiches. Yum!

Shirley, maybe they will have take-out at the Amish dinner and you can take it home where it's cool. I imagine it will taste delicious! Way too hot for soup here.

Raven, did you make the brisket in the crockpot? Sounds good.

Phyllis, from the ingredients, it doesn't sound like you will need soup. Yum on the cauliflower!!
