Does powder room hardware finish have to match with the faucet's
Comments (4)1) Personally, I do not think all of the hardware has to match in finish. I have mixed chrome and brushed nickel and stainless in the same room. Personally, I prefer them to be in the same "family" (ie: silver colors), but that's just a personal preference. 2) I do not think that hardware finishes have a strong impact on whether a room looks dark or light. I believe that paint, floor color, countertop color, and vanity color have a much bigger impact on how dark a room feels because they fill up the space. 3) If you really like the contrast of dark wood (and/or dark granite or something) with the white, go for it. Consider using a light colored wall paint to keep the room from feeling too dark. I love the striking contrast of white and dark wood. 4) What other finishes would you like to mix in?...See MoreAnyone Have The Aged Pewter Finish Faucets From Delta?
Comments (4)Thanks for the reply, Tinker. This may seem like a weird question, but do all your faucets match in color (sink, tub, shower)? The tub I want only comes with chrome or satin nickel drains (there are 2 of them). Do you think the pewter will clash? Some of these choices are difficult to make when you don't have all the facts (i.e. water hardness), much less it being a finish I've never owned. How is your new kitchen plan coming along? I can't wait to see your finished product!! I really, really like that house & the beautiful lot it's on. I am so happy for you that you were able to get it. It looks like a piece of paradise to me....See MorePewter hardware--what finish on faucet?
Comments (1)I have antique pewter hardware and chrome faucets. I couldn't spend the extra for stainless or nickel. I really didn't feel it was a sacrifice, though, since I have nothing against chrome. I think it's classic/acceptable/expected. HTH...See MoreFinish OTHER Than Nickel or Pewter, Etc for White Kitchen
Comments (10)Thanks--you've all been reassuring and have made me feel so much better. While I'm thrilled to have these decisions to make, I'm starting to seriously second guess myself. rosie-I'm intrigued. Do you mean look for solid brass hardware? Any specific suggestions? I'll start searching, but there's so much out there and I've found it's hard to tell sometimes exactly what is what! rmkitchen-I LOVE your kitchen and all of your choices are dead-on. For some reason, I'm simply not "feeling" the nickel/chrome for my kitchen. By the way, you're one of the key reasons I'm feeling good about both the marble and ordering from Grothouse Lumber. There's still a very slight chance I'll go with a dark brown granite, if it's exactly right, but I'm pretty sold on the wood....See Moretwinkletoesmomma
