Chrome, and only chrome. If you want vintage no other finish existed aside from silver (german silver) and chrome, zinc or pewter. I have chrome faucets with my pewter pulls. It looks great.

Another question: what would the light fixtures be if the hardware is pewter and the faucet is chrome?

like your faucet, you can go several routes with your light fixture - chrome, satin nickel, pewter. They all kind of relate to each other, so as long as the style fits it's fine.

Sounds like you're doing a traditional kitchen (farmhouse sink, cup pulls), and in these types of kitchens I really like mixes in metal/finishes. To me, it feels more warm and as if the kitchen's been there forever, where you've added/changed things over time.

I have antique pewter hardware on my lighter cabinets, brushed nickel on my faucets, etc. I also have a darker island, which has oil rubbed bronze hardware, and I have a bronze light fixture.

You can sort of get an idea of the antique pewter and the brushed nickel from this picture. The finishes are actually quite similar:

In this picture you can see the bronze, or English brown I think it is called, light fixture. I think mixing finishes is nice, actually. I don't like all matchy matchy everything.
