How Important is SS Gauge in a Small Sink?

I've identified two possibilities for my prep sink (to be used mostly for washing produce), based on my requirements (stainless steel, center drain, 6 inches deep) and the size restraints posed by my local water management district--a 15" diameter Blanco (18 gauge) and a 14" x 16" Oliveri (20 gauge). I know thicker SS is better, but in sinks of this small size how important is the gauge difference in everyday use? I prefer the dimensions of the Oliveri, but I'm aggravated that it's thinner yet costs almost twice as much as the Blanco, even on the discount Web sites.
