The Carrie Prejean thing

From the start I have felt this has been a giant manipulation of the public. I think the only authentic moment was when Carrie heard the question and then answered it. I only think that was a real moment because she didn't answer with a well organized and flowing answer - if she had, I'd think she knew the question was coming.

The minute I heard that The Donald owned the show, I was suspect. He is a businessman with a product to sell. The way you do that is to gain recognition and talk about your product, even if it's kind of negative, it's free advertising.

I think The Donald very well knew and may have been in on the question asked by that idiot Perez Hilton. I suspect that Hilton knew that Carrie would be up there and zeroed in on her as California has been wrestling with this very issue. I think both Hilton and probably Trump knew Prejean's stand on this issue.

It made great press. She answered honestly, which is what she is supposed to do. I dont'agree with her stand, but she was asked and the negative was in the rather awkward way she stated her position, not her position itself.

I think that Donald was in on this for free press for his product, That Perez Hilton embarrassment was in it for free publicity. By the next morning, I believe that Prejean and her handlers knew a good thing when it hit and was using the whole thing for self promotion. Everybody wins - except for, of course, the actual winner, who knows her name?

Manipulation at it's finest and the press bought it and then spoon fed it to the public -

That's my take on it - what's yours?
