Venting for the drain.
Location of the supply lines.
Whether studs were notched or drilled through. Notching is generally not desirable.
Water tight joints for supply lines, drain(s).

make sure there's a turn off/on valve where you can get to it easily.

double check they have hot and cold to come into your f*aucets. wouldn't think you'd need to check that, but you never know... there's been a lot of things posted on here i wouldn't have THOUGHT you'd need to tell them. or ask them to do.

did you check that they/he had a license?

I'll probably drive my dbf nuts when we start work...tho, he usually anticipates things I'd never think about. like when he had the electrician put a switch INSIDE for me to turn off my w*ater pump. there's one outside at the pump too... but having that one inside has been a life saver! (most people don't need those).

I don't have any concrete suggestions, but I think your concern is well placed--I read an article this week about a home where the plumbers had hooked up the irrigation system to the hot water. The plants were being watered with 180 degree water (yes, too high a setpoint on the hot water heater too, although that is minor by comparison).

I got an email for my gc on Thurs night. Here is what he asked me followed by my response:

Gc: "Do you have all the plumbing supplies?"

Me "I have a dishwasher (previously installed in the old kitchen), 2 sinks and 2 faucets. The dishwasher was removed by your guys so I think it should have all the parts to re-install but I was not on site during removal so I do not know if any parts cannot be re-used. It is a MIELE dishwasher if that is at all helpful.
The 2 sinks and the 2 faucets are brand new in the box so I assume that everything required is included.
As you know, I am not a plumber so I cannot be positive about this. Should I review the contents of the faucet boxes and list them for you?
Do I need anything else for the plumbing installation? If you want me to purchase something please tell me the exact name, size, quantity and I will try to source it.
I do not have the shutoff valve for the fridge water line."

Nope. Nothing else you need to think of.
Get the GC to be responsible for the connecting fittings.
Looks to me like you're doing too much and he's doing too little.
You're responding with maximum information, and he's asking you the vaguest question possible.

One surprise I had was the height of the sink drain. Although I was not moving any plumbing, my old kitchen had a drop in sink and my new kitchen is set under the granite. Between the thickness of the granite and the undermount sink, my drain does not meet code! To fix this I would have had to rip out my brand new cabinets and reroute the PVC--unfortunately my solution is to let the permit expire without a mechanical signoff. The other item is to make sure there is clearance between your shut off valves and your disposer if you have one. Hope this helps...

Like jsol I had a height problem with my drain. We were able to re-work the plumbing and bring it up through the bottom of the cabinet - cut and tie into the trunk line in the basement etc. It was a real pain....
