Dollydots posted on the "DQ specials today" thread that she took Quinine for leg cramps. Before anyone takes this or any other supplements or OTC products I would suggest that they check out the possible side effects and contraindications

of taking it with other medications etc.I know Dolly said her doctor prescribed it so I assume he felt it was safe for her. However,it may not be safe for everyone so you should check with you doctor before taking it.I remember reading somewhere a while back where the FDA had ordered it removed from OTC products used for leg cramps.I have taken it in the past and it worked but caused roaring in my ears.My OB gave it to me when I was pregnant with my third baby to help induce labor! didn't work.LOL

I take Potassium for night time leg cramps.2-99 mg.tablets before bedtime and more if I wake up with a cramp, which I occasionally do.Not saying this is right for everyone either but do the research first!

Here is a link that might be useful: Quinine
