'Birdsong'....YAWN

We have recorded and watched a lot of Masterpiece Theater presentations over the years. Yesterday we got 30 minutes into "Birdsong", looked at one another, shook our heads and deleted both hours.

Did anyone here watch this? Were we too hasty in giving up on it? Maybe there have been too many WWI-related books and programs of late.

I didn't watch it but read the short blurb on it and deleted without even starting it.

I have enjoyed a couple of other Masterpiece Theater programs recently--Old Curiosity Shop, Mystery of Edwin Drood, Great Expectations (but I think I missed the end of G.E.).

Same as you. I started it and got bored. I didn't finish it. It was also weirdly too much in focus if that makes sense.

Thanks! Maybe I should read the book. It IS adapted from a book, I think.

DH just came back from the library with "Hugo" and the Martin Clunes TV comedy series I read about here on the KT, "William and Mary". Now I don't know how we'll fit in the shows we are recordding: "Mad Men", "Sherlock Holmes", and what DH has dubbed 'the 'tropical cartoon', "Hawaii Five-O"!
