White Fantasy Quartzite vs Yellow Juparana Delicatus Granite
Comments (24)Hi Tuoihong- Glad you went with WF. Just read the thread and was thinking from early in the thread that WF was where your heart was. IMHO, SLab #1 is a little quieter, whereas #2 is a bit splotchy, chaotic. They're both gorgeous, but if I had to pick, it would be #1, which already has plenty of movement and visual interest but provides a calmer, more uniform look. Imagine you're making the decision by flipping a coin. Slab #1 is heads, #2 tails. While it's up in the air, about to fall, are you in your heart of hearts hoping for heads or tails? An idea similar to Beekeeper's Wife's, it helps clear away the noise and show you where your heart is....See MoreCan anyone post pics of Super White granite and white cabinets?
Comments (10)Dark photo of super white on a white island right after counter installed in my kitchen. Don't give up on the super white. I looked at 5 different slabs before I found one that would work for us. It really varies from a med/dark gray to a swirly white & light gray. Eventually I started calling the fabricators and asking about their super white. If I got someone knowledgeable they would describe it and send a photo. Be very specific about what you want - I wanted it to have some white but nice contrast so the very gray and swirly white/light gray didn't work. The slab we found also has some areas that are almost peach (it is very light, just an accent tone in the background) that I loved with our red birch perimeter cabinets. The stone is called by many names - supreme white, white princess, white fantasy - but asking for white quartzite and sharing some of the names got me the stuff I wanted. Note - I still went to look at the slabs even if the photos were a little off - often they look lighter and whiter in person. Here is a link to the photos I collected on quartzite slabs in my area (Boston) so you can see how different they can be. http://s932.photobucket.com/albums/ad166/sparklekitty_kitchen/White%20Quartzite%20or%20Granite%20Slabs/ The last two are of the slab we purchased. Note that the 2nd photo was from the fabricator and it shows the slab darker than it is in person. I have also included a link to my recent posting with all the photos of the counter installed. Again the photos are dark, but I am very happy. The paint color is BM Dove Wing, but we also considered BM white dove. Comments (8)Funny. I looked at the one with garnet specs. I tried to force myself to love it but I just didn't. Garnet isn't a color I am drawn to so I ended up with the more neutral Quartz. That way I could add the colors I liked to the space like blue, green, and orange. I would go with the SW and get a sample to test before you buy it. If you don't love the specs now my guess is you won't love them once their in your kitchen either....See MoreKitchen countertop decision
Comments (5)I think White Fantasy might be like Fantasy Brown.. What does your fabricator say? And I agree with CYC2001 test it! I am in counter chaos myself so totally understand this search for counters. Wishing you lots of luck. ~boxer Here is a link [White Fantasy Super White Granite[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/white-fantasy-super-white-granite-dsvw-vd~2568145?n=13) [White Fantasy Quartzite etches[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/fwiw-my-white-fantasy-aka-super-white-definitely-etches-dsvw-vd~2701808?n=4)...See Morewant2bsure
