I've only seen the brushed chrome in showrooms. It might be my first choice. I'm a fan of nickel, normally. Anything but a polished finish. Not only for cleaning, not only for looks, but also for a physical reason: in one of my bathrooms, someone dropped something like a pair of scissors and it left a mark very visible on the sculpted polished chrome surface. (That's because it's brass inside, a soft metal, and the plating is a few microns thickness only.) I think a brushed finish has enough texture of its own that it can hide a few little things like this. I assume you've been to showrooms that have Kohler faucets in brushed chrome. If not, contact Kohler, get a list of showrooms, and email or phone each one of them to find out if you will be able to see a real huge faucet with _that_ finish. Not a sample chip. An entire faucet. Ideally they won't make you wait an hour while they go hunt for one like it in their inventory in the back. That happened to me once even though I called ahead and spoke to someone in the showroom. (Faucet marketing is weird). Since brushed chrome is rare, that is also a reason for the upcharge. hth

I'm planning on getting the Whitehaven too. In, for example, the 33"w there are two different models. One for retrofitting existing non-sink-base base cabinets. And one for new install sink base cabinets that are made for farm sinks. Their website is less than helpful because I don't think it comes up when you do a comparison. I had to poke around and what finally cleared it up for me were the installation videos and the drawings on the install instructions (or whatever they call them). The depth of both sinks is the same, but the front panel that works to self-trim it is short on the retro/short-apron one (K-5826) and longer on the new-install/tall-apron one (K-5827). I'm glad you brought this up, because here's my question... I'm getting new cabinets, so I could definitely get a apron front sink base cabinet. But the one in the Innermost line has a 13+" area above the doors and the Whitehaven that's NOT for retrofitting is 9+". That seems like a lot of wasted space and like it will look weird. I'm not 100% sold on the Whitehaven. DH is. I love the look and function of an apron front, but our home is modern/transitional. So I'm thinking of going with a 'normal' sink base and the shallower front model because I think it would look less farm-y and more modern. Thoughts? Donaleen, I love your faucet with the Whitehaven. What a great pair. I chose a Waterstone. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it but what was a deal clincher was the ability to try it in the show room. I can't speak to how it works as it won't be installed for a week or so. When I was researching sinks I read that some had issues with water splashing in the Whitehaven but I figured any sink could have splashing depending on where the water stream hits the sink. I will update when I have it in use for a bit.

I got one at Home Depot online 2 days ago. It was delivered today. Still don't have a delivery date on the the one I ordered through Ferguson's in mid-May....I was told 6-8 weeks then. My cabinets go in next week so I decided to bite the bullet and buy elsewhere. The only catch was I had to buy the sink as a package with a faucet - I bought the cheapest faucet available and I will get rid of it on eBay. Worth it to me to get the sink now!
