I really don't blame her for not posting ....while maybe no one was "mean" , I would have been humiliated by being called out on a public forum like that.She knows what she's doing with her health,she can tell what she wants to share,not be called upon to answer questions....JMO.

A call-out for a public "tongue-lashing" for whatever reason is not polite, however well meaning the intentions are. The poor woman is probably mortified with embarassment.

I think she's just busy today, being the holiday and all. At least I hope so. I would miss her posts. She posted yesterday, so maybe we'll hear from her tomorrow.

If she was hurt, I want to tell her here to please come back. You add so much here and have great recipes, too, by the way.

I thought the original post of "Tongue lashing" was a bit harsh and I can see why Marilyn Sue could possibly be embarrassed and humiliated. I know the OP had good intentions as did the others who posted. Maybe a personal e-mail would have been better.

I just read it tonight and couldn't believe it. What a tacky thing to do. People have been banned for far less. No, it wasn't tacky, it was disgusting.

The intentions were kind whether the wording was or not.

If you post about your health people will give their opinion. If you post about a restaurant people will respond. If you post a recipe some will like it and others will not.

I like Marilyn Sue and hope she returns. But to blame the OP of the post for her leaving is absurd.

I just got home from the holidays and had an email from Marilyn. Yes, she was upset and I don't blame her. I went back and read the post. The title of the post was mean spirited. You can offer a person support in so many other ways. Just use a little kindness. We all have so much to offer others.

Marilyn, don't let this stop you from posting. You have alot to offer all of us...

And now, I am feeling embarassed as well. I posted on the thread bacause I "assumed" (you know what that makes me!) that MarilynSue was being too casual about her medical visit and new meds. And, I just wish someone would have tried to impress upon me that diabetes has a component that is so "insidious". The vision problems that creep up, the neuropathy (nerve damage)in feet, legs and hands the kidneys. I have been there.....not taking those numbers as seriously as I should have, and even now I push the envelope too frequently. I really admire the posters that come here and say that they really stick to their food plan. I AM so lucky. Everything has worked for me and I still have neuropathy....mostly from being in denial for a long time. Too much info, I am sure, Nanny

Anyway, I hope that the messages were taken in the spirit that they were offered. I most certainally did identify with her.

Marilyn_sue. I am sorry that I let my passion for diabetes rule my head. The title to my post was poorly worded. The content was meant to help, as I know diabetes well. Instead I have caused you pain and I am sorry.
