Comments (27)Thank you everyone! We are so excited! The cabinets should be done in the next 2-3 weeks. We are closing on our current house Dec. 12, and hoping to be in the new house by Feb. 1. BalTra, this is the only other picture of the wine cubbies that we have, taken from the back, without the shelves. These weren't in the plans, but a last minute change suggested by the cabinetmaker. I would guess the cubbie space is 5-6 inches, so you'd definitely have room if you have 12". I uploaded a few more pictures to share... Better photo of the door sample: Kitchen at sunset: there's actually really great light during the day. this is the foyer, going into the great room. the kitchen is off to the right. looking into the kitchen from the great room (ignore Elmo on outer island place holder). Comments (4)if you believe you are in that "area" of the offerings...when you say "top of the line" semi custom, I would really be seeking out your design /kitchen shop and planner. You absolutely need help to navigate. They know how to put the add-ons and custom details together or use "stock" with upgrades within the cabinet lines they are experienced with. It is not so simple to have your mind and eyes on special details and just go and get them from a cabinet company....get a planner by going to design showrooms in the area and find someone you "click" with ...ask questions...then you will get the direction and process of your plan within your specifications and budget....See MoreAmish or Custom Cabinet Recommendaiton in Ohio
Comments (7)Right, I was born in OH, and recently moved back. Everyone forgets how huge a state this is - including me! I just assumed you were from CLE. Good catch mom2. I have read many times that local custom cabinets can be less expensive than cabinets ordered through larger companies. That was never true in my market. I hope it turns out to work for you. In case it doesn't, consider ready-to-assemble brands like Barker Cabinet or - and this is the way I'm going for most of my cabinets - IKEA, which you have access to in Canton, MI....See MoreCustom cabinets help-needing pictures of uniqu but functional features
Comments (42)We did a custom height liquor drawer here, for those tall bottles. And placed it next to the refrigerator drawers, with the hutch above for the glassware. The custom island has pot and pan drawers facing the range, and the trash facing the sink. And a custom powder coated iron counter support system. The oven stack was custom, and placed the french door oven above a microwave drawer. The corner drawers are next to a custom sized tray base. There were some compromises for homeowner preferences, but for the whole, the project turned out well because the homeowner was open to listening to ideas to improve the layout. Your layout has room for improvement that will make it easier to work in your kitchen. I would hope that you are open to all ideas, and not just about cabinet customizations....See Morehyjenist
