Blue Pearl Granite & Black and Gray Glass tile back splash too mu
Comments (25)oh mayflowers forgot to say that I like the idea of adding cabinets to back of peninsula area but was also thinking of having two backless bar stools with black leather seats there as well. Will have to think about the wainscoating and now that I look closely the area could use an update and it is scuffed up. the more we look the more we see that needs help with this house Ugh thanks so much Here is the living room, my carpenter is fashioning a pine wood free floating mantle as we speak, it will have oil on it and natural tones. We have sofa facing the fireplace that's a thin cordoroy material in a light blue/green and plan to have an accent chair against the other wall (the staircase wall) with perhaps some type of server or china cabinet over there, dining area is too small for china cabinet but might be able to have a behind the sofa credenza (for more storage) we also plan to have an area rug in front of the sofa. I am looking for a gray one with texture if I can find one. what do you think of those ideas? Right now the dining area has a work table we're using till we find what we want lol...See MoreBlue Pearl with White Cabinets?
Comments (15)Along with everyone else, I think the white cabs and the blue pearl counters are fabulous. One thing I notice in the photos, though, it that it really makes a difference to this combo what you choose for the floor. I don't usually notice the floor 1st or 2nd in photos, but in these I do. I tend to prefer the darker wood floor in shelayne's floor, you can just see a bit of it. Have you considered a tile floor with a wood look? Solves the doggie toenail issues. Maybe something like this: If you have hardwood in adjacent rooms, I'm not sure how that would work, but it's an idea. Notice also Shelayne's black pulls on the lowers and glass knobs on the uppers. Nice combo. And as long as we're talking go-withs, how about that gray backspash in boxerpup's 9th photo? I think I like it better without the black accent pieces, but I can't believe I like a gray backspash at all....See Morewhite or black blanco silgranit sink
Comments (7)Have you thought about the metallic gray? I used it with my gray Carrara, and it works well. I almost hesitate to show this pic pre-plumbing as the coloring is off. The metallic is much grayer than this IRL. http://www.flickr.com/photos/48735425@N05/6292256668/ I also thought the white silgranits in the showrooms looked plasticy and thought the black wasn't a rich color. Love the metallic though! I even used it in my walnut island for my prep sink....See MoreBlue pearl counters in need of a backsplash.
Comments (49)Annalynn - I love tile like that ... and I think you have cherry cabinets so I'm sure the white looks beautiful. My mom is also looking for a backsplash and she likes the patterns like that if you don't mind sharing the manufacturer. She probably needs a cream color. I'm using a kitchen place that plans everything up front so the actual project is completed in 2.5-3 weeks. So, unfortunately I have to decide everything now. I've seen lots of different options online so I have an idea, but I know it all looks different in your house. I love glass so much more than ceramic (especially with the blue pearl), so I really want to go in that direction. Karen - I'll include the link with the colors again. I have samples at home of the slate gray (too dark), rain cloud (very pretty, but I think I want a little more color), soft blue (a little too pastel for me), soft gray (too close to white), and blue-gray. I really like the color of the blue-gray, but I'm worried it's a little on the dark side. I'm lucky in that my kitchen gets a ton of natural light so with the light cabinets, I feel like it's okay to go a little darker on the backsplash. My current kitchen has a drab beige backsplash and I'd prefer something a little more interesting. I'm at the point where it's the only thing hanging me up and they won't put me on the schedule until I pick something, so I guess it's decision time. Annalynn - is yours installed yet? It would be awesome to see a picture! Thanks, Lisa Here is a link that might be useful: http://www.interstyle.ca/products/glasstyle/glasstyle-colors.html...See Morelavender_lass
