Bluish grays and dark blue paint colors

Hi all! Looking for suggestions on bluish grays and dark blue paint colors. I'm partial to BM colors, but I also speak SW ;-)

I have a small north facing 4 square center hall colonial with 8ft ceilings. Natural light is a challenge and there are no windows on the back of the house. Orangey oak floors throughout.

I have Louisburg Green in my DR, Bronzed Beige in in LR, and will do den in either Wethersfield Moss or Nantucket Gray. I am looking for colors for Powder Room, kitchen, and foyer/stairs/upper hallway, and eventually master bedroom and master bath.

Without getting into too much detail, the blues have a tendency to go too blue with my lighting. For consistency or flow, do I want to use varying shades on a strip for all of these blues and grays, or does it not matter? DH seems to be against using the same color for powder room and master bedroom (Nimbus Gray, perhaps). I also thought I'd pick the same navy for kitchen and master bath. These would be 2 rooms in Navy and white, though. Is that a little boring or bland?

For a dark blue, I really like SW Tempe Star.

I've seen it paired with bronze beige colors (SW Bagel, e.g.) and they are very nice complements.

With grays, it would be best to stick with different shades on the same strip, IMO. There are blue grays, green grays, pink grays, purple grays, yellow grays, etc. and you wouldn't want to mix and match those different hues. I think you'd want to find a gray with a tone that you like and choose lighter and darker shades of it.

Dark blue and white are a great combo. Accent with another color like cranberry or lime green.

I go with Smilax. I grow redtwig dogwood, and the fruit clusters don't look at all like the picture (but when I search for Smilax, that is what they look like). Also, look at the leaves...although it's difficult to see a whole leaf in OP's photo, they appear to be roughly heart-shaped, like Smilax, whereas Cornus are usually more ovate. The really telling point, I think, would be the leaf venation but again, I can't see it clearly in the picture. Smilax (and I'm not familiar with this plant, just what I've read about it) appears to have parallel veins, but Cornus has pinnate veins.

SW North Star is a gray/blue. We have it in our cathedral ceiling LR, open stairs and halls. It's cool and soothing, and changes all day long with the light. As you can see we have oak and pine trim, but I know it would really show nicely with white. The first pic shows it in evening light. The second in bright day light (reflected from snow) Hope this helps.

My kitchen is open to my living room. We have white cabinets (Medallion White Icing) on the perimeters with BM Mineral Alloy on the island. Super White on the counters throughout with white 2x8 subway tiles. We also get ample light. I love blue, but was hesitant that I would tire of an entire blue kitchen. I feel our blue island (it's ~9x5) gives enough pop of color. Walls in adjoining rooms are BM Manchester Tan. Do take into consideration the decor in your living room. When we built 5 years ago, my furniture was very much earth tones which went well in our previous home. The stools in the above photo were from our old home which had natural cherry shaker cabinets. They have since been changed out. Still not happy with what I have, however. I've slowly changed the living room furniture so that the two rooms blend better. This is a picture I just snapped (sorry for the clutter). End table and sofa are all that's left from when we moved in. I'm still struggling with what to do with the sofa, but that's another thread.

Your dark blues are over powering, your greens seem too minty dental office. Your greys blend well with what I see of your dining room but may feel to blah in the winter. Explore FB greys with green undertones or olives. These look radically different depending on the light. I have BM pewter 2121-30 on my house. It looks gray on the strip but it looks more blue gray when it's up. It's fresh and not muddy at all.

In our bathroom I had a 1980s cabinet with orange walls. I sanded and painted the cabs BM Anchor Grey, installed a Carrera marble countertop, and painted all the walls BM New Hope Gray. Our local decorating guru helped with the color selection. I think it looks terrific. In fact someone who was recently in our bathroom just called and asked for the wall color so they could re-paint their bath.

BM Mineral Alloy 1622 is a beautiful color. A BM color consultant recommended it for an accent wall in my kitchen.

I like BM Wedgewood Gray which we have in our bedroom it is a soothing spa-like color.

In our kitchen I used BM James River Gray - darker and more blue than the Wedgewood Gray. Love it, too.

Gray-blues have always been my favorite colors!

This past weekend we painted our front room BM Grey cloud which reads a nice soothing pale blue grey. My kids think it is blue but it really is a grey with blue undertones.

Our island is SW Naval. Our kitchen walls are also SW, but mixed to match a color (before I found Naval). Very close. When it's time to paint again, we'll use Naval. Kitchen cabs and backsplash are white. Love navy and white!

That looks like my kitchen! Ok, sold on navy for my kitchen. I will get some samples and check those out.

Thanks for that Blue and Gray link. It helped tremendously! I just got samples of Smoke and Wedgewood Gray for my powder room and I don't think I like either one. The Wedgewood looks a little too hospital scrubs to me, and the Smoke is looking kind of baby nursery.

Also, I have almond/bone toilet and sink, so I'm afraid too much blue will have an 80's country feel. Like, with hearts and geese, ya know? I will investigate the nimbus strip, because I liked that one, too, and was going to use it in my master.

I'm also drawn to red, like, Raspberry Truffle, but I'm afraid it would be too dated. My style tends to be about 10 years behind because it takes me that long to get around to painting and all that. Are people still using red in powder rooms? With a navy Kitchen and an olive den, should the powder room be a respite from deep colors?
