Homemade dog food / treats

I ran across a write-up about how unhealthy and dangerous most dog food is. About how most contain really bad ingredients that are known to be slowly poisoning your pet. I had no idea. Things like certain preservatives and useless fillers. Some processors even use euthanized dogs and cats as well as dead farm and zoo animals. This thing was saying how the medicine used to put down pets doesn't break down in the process of turning the animal into meal. Have I just been living under a rock or have I been fooled by this report? It is so disgusting to think what I / we have been feeding our dogs. Assuming this is true.

I should mention that this was written by a guy that lost his beloved Beagle to Kidney failure at a young age. He did years of research and has since written a book. It's and e-book that I (of course) bought. Everything is very believable, but I was just wondering if anyone else has heard this sort of story. And NO I'm not advertising.

The reason for the title of this post was because the book includes many many homemade food and treat recipes. Some look easy and some would take a little effort.

Do any of you make your dogs food at home? Have you noticed any improvements or changes in your dog? I have one dog with chronic ear infections and another with really bad breath and dirty teeth. Both things can be caused by bad food (supposedly).

Just wondering
